Prestasi dan Julat

Berbanding dengan pendahulunya, ID.Buzz lebih berat dengan jumlah 2,800 kg—680 kg lebih berat daripada Honda Odyssey. Namun, ia menawarkan prestasi yang mengagumkan:

Volkswagen has revived its legendary Type 2 Microbus as the all-electric 2025 ID.Buzz, blending nostalgic charm with contemporary technology. First launched in 1950, the original Type 2 was a cultural icon symbolizing peace and good vibes, with its three rows of seats offering space for up to nine passengers. Fast forward over 50 years, and its successor is making waves as a modern EV.

Performance and Range

The ID.Buzz is significantly heavier than its predecessor, weighing in at 2,800kgs—a notable 680kgs more than the Honda Odyssey. Despite its heft, the EV offers two powertrain options: a rear-wheel-drive version with 282hp and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant delivering 335hp. The ID.Buzz can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds. However, its 86-kWh battery provides a modest range of 376km for the rear-wheel-drive version and 372km for the AWD model, falling short compared to some competitors.

Volkswagen, pengeluar automotif terbesar di Eropah, telah mengumumkan pelan penstrukturan semula yang melibatkan lebih daripada 35,000 pemberhentian kerja dan pengurangan kapasiti operasi di Jerman. Langkah ini, hasil daripada rundingan intensif dengan kesatuan sekerja, bertujuan untuk mengukuhkan daya saing syarikat dalam industri automotif yang semakin berkembang, sambil mengelakkan mogok besar-besaran.

Pujian dan Sokongan Dari Pemimpin dan Pemegang Saham

Canselor Jerman Olaf Scholz menyifatkan perjanjian ini sebagai langkah yang bertanggungjawab dan memberi jaminan kepada masa depan Volkswagen.
“Walaupun berdepan cabaran, perjanjian ini memastikan Volkswagen dan pekerjanya boleh menantikan masa depan yang stabil. Ini juga mengukuhkan Jerman sebagai pusat penting untuk industri automotif,” kata Scholz.

Porsche SE, pemegang saham utama Volkswagen, turut menyokong langkah tersebut, menekankan sumbangan perjanjian itu terhadap pengurangan kos struktur yang mampan.
“Katalog langkah ini akan meningkatkan daya saing Volkswagen dan menyediakan asas kukuh untuk pelaburan masa depan,” menurut kenyataan syarikat.

Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker, has announced a sweeping restructuring plan for its German operations, including more than 35,000 job cuts and capacity reductions. The deal, reached in a last-minute negotiation with unions, aims to avert mass strikes while positioning the company for a competitive future in the rapidly evolving auto industry.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz hailed the agreement as a balanced and socially responsible resolution.
“It’s good news that the company and trade unions have agreed on a good, socially acceptable solution today,” Scholz said. “Despite all the hardships, it ensures that Volkswagen and its employees can look forward to a good future. This agreement reaffirms Germany’s standing as an important location for industry and the automotive sector.”

Porsche SE, Volkswagen’s top shareholder, also welcomed the move, emphasising the structural advantages it brings.
“The agreed catalogue of measures makes a substantial contribution to a structural and sustainable reduction in costs,” the company said in a statement. “The result will lead to a considerable improvement in Volkswagen’s competitiveness, laying a solid foundation for future investments.”

Selepas hampir 34 tahun berkhidmat dan menghasilkan 1.87 juta unit, Volkswagen secara rasmi menamatkan pengeluaran enjin VR6 sudut sempitnya yang legenda. Unit terakhir enjin enam silinder ini dibina pada 12 Disember 2024, menandakan berakhirnya satu era untuk janakuasa yang dikenali kerana inovasi dan serba boleh.

Lahirnya Inovasi: Pengenalan VR6

Diperkenalkan pada tahun 1991, enjin VR6 memulakan perjalanan dengan kapasiti 2.8 liter dalam Volkswagen Passat generasi ketiga dan Coupe Corrado. Apa yang menjadikan VR6 begitu istimewa ialah reka bentuknya yang unik—konfigurasi V sudut sempit yang menggabungkan kelebihan enjin V6 dan enjin enam selari.

  • Reka bentuk sudut sempit ini membolehkan kedua-dua tebing silinder dikongsi dalam satu kepala silinder, mengurangkan kos pembuatan dan memudahkan proses pembinaan.
  • Enjin ini kompak dan sesuai untuk platform pacuan roda hadapan, menjadikannya inovasi penting dalam automotif.

After nearly 34 years of production and 1.87 million units, Volkswagen has officially retired its legendary narrow-angle VR6 engine. The final unit of the six-cylinder powerhouse was built on December 12, marking the end of an era for an engine that became synonymous with innovation and versatility.

The Birth of the VR6

Introduced in 1991, the VR6 debuted as a 2.8-litre engine in the third-generation Passat and the Corrado coupe. What set the VR6 apart was its unique layout—a narrow-angle V design that combined features of both a V6 and an inline-six. With cylinder banks offset at an exceptionally narrow-angle, the VR6 required only a single cylinder head, simplifying its construction and reducing manufacturing costs.

This innovative design allowed Volkswagen to create a compact engine capable of fitting into smaller cars, making it a perfect choice for front-wheel-drive platforms.

It’s a turbulent period for German automaker Volkswagen as it contends with major economic pressures. In North America, management reshuffles have dominated headlines, while globally, the company is implementing plant closures, wage reductions, and layoffs to save billions of dollars. Despite these hurdles, Volkswagen is charting a path forward, starting with significant updates to its electric vehicle (EV) lineup and platforms.

Revamping the Electric Future

At the LA Auto Show, Volkswagen’s Head of Research & Development, Kai Grünitz, outlined the company’s roadmap for a revamped all-electric lineup. Central to this effort is the Modular Electric (MEB) platform, which underpins models such as the ID.4 and the recently launched ID. Buzz van. Grünitz promised “huge improvements” to the platform, including a fresh design language that aims to bring the brand closer to its roots and revive its appeal.

The first step in this journey is the production-ready ID.2all, a compact EV concept unveiled in 2023. Initially slated for a 2025 release, economic challenges and a slowdown in EV demand have cast uncertainty over its launch schedule. Nonetheless, Volkswagen remains committed to the ID.2all as part of the updated MEB platform, with an accompanying SUV model expected to debut at the Munich Motor Show in September 2025.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) hari ini  mengumumkan inisiatif tahunan Volkswagen Cares untuk membantu pemilik  kenderaan Volkswagen yang terjejas akibat banjir di seluruh negara baru-baru  ini. 

Sebagai sebahagian daripada inisiatif itu, VPCM menawarkan diskaun sehingga 30% alat ganti tulen untuk kenderaan yang terjejas akibat banjir dari 1 Oktober  2024 hingga 31 Mac 2025. Diskaun tersebut boleh didapati di semua pusat servis sah Volkswagen di seluruh Malaysia. 

Sebagai tambahan, VPCM ada menawarkan pemeriksaan kenderaan secara  percuma bagi menilai tahap kerosakan akibat banjir dan mencadangkan  pembaikan yang sewajarnya. Servis itu bertujuan menjamin keselamatan dan  ketahanan semua kenderaan yang terjejas sebagai sebahagian daripada  program penjagaan selepas jualan yang komprehensif.

Golf Elektrik 2.0: Permulaan Baharu pada Platform SSP

Golf baharu ini akan menggunakan Platform Sistem Skala (SSP), seni bina EV generasi akan datang yang direka dengan kepakaran Rivian dalam kejuruteraan dan perisian. SSP dijangka membawa inovasi yang signifikan dalam kecekapan tenaga dan teknologi kenderaan yang ditakrifkan perisian.

The ninth-generation Golf, slated for a 2029 debut, will be an exclusively electric model, developed in collaboration with Rivian through a joint venture worth $5.8 billion.

Electric Golf 2.0: A Fresh Start on the SSP Platform

The forthcoming electric Golf will ride on Volkswagen’s Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), a next-generation EV architecture developed with Rivian’s expertise in electric vehicle (EV) engineering and software. Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer emphasised the strategic importance of starting the SSP journey with the Golf:
“We want to begin this journey with a more iconic product. So, we’ll start with the Golf,” Schäfer said.
