Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) recently concluded their annual Volkswagen Dealer Awards 2018 at the prestigious Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel. The awards were presented by Erik Winter and Florian Steiner, Managing Directors of VPCM, and Deenan Nadar, Aftersales Director of VPCM.

Sebagai tanda penghargaan terhadap setiap pengedar, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) telah mengadakan Anugerah Pengedar Volkswagen 2018 di Hotel Hilton, Kuala Lumpur.

Anugerah tersebut bertujuan meraikan pencapaian setiap 25 pengedar daripada rangkaian pengedaran Volkswagen di seluruh negara dalam mendukung jenama Volkswagen sepanjang tahun 2018.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Urusan VPCM, Erik Winter menyifatkan anugerah ini bukan sahaja diadakan untuk mengiktiraf kerja keras semua pengedar Volkswagen malah turut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu pengedar seluruh negara.

“Tahun demi tahun, kami terus memberi galakan dan dorongan kepada rakan-rakan pengedar agar terus melakukan penambahbaikan. Kami membina kepercayaan dan keyakinan dalam kalangan para pemilik kenderaan Volkswagen menerusi para pengedar ini dengan cara meningkatkan pengalaman pemilikan mereka secara keseluruhannya. Justeru, kami rasa bangga kerana dapat mengiktiraf usaha dan kerja keras yang telah mereka sumbangkan untuk perniagaan serta jenama Volkswagen,” katanya.

Sebanyak empat anugerah telah disampaikan bagi kategori pengedaran yang melibatkan pengedar pusat 3S dan 4S dengan skor dinilai dengan mengambil kira aspek jualan dan pemasaran, kepuasan pelanggan, pematuhan standard serta kelayakan tenaga pekerja dari Januari hingga Disember 2018.

MHV Autohaus (Volkswagen Gombak) dinobat sebagai Pengedar Terbaik Keseluruhan 2018 sekaligus mengekalkan anugerah yang dimenangi pada tahun sebelumnya.

As part of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia’s continuous efforts to enhance the ownership experience for its customers, the Volkswagen Tiguan will receive an upgrade of a new 2019 Active Info Display (AID) and LED Taillights (below). The upgrades will take effect on all Tiguan units from March 2019 onwards.

The new Active Info Display (below) has a high resolution display colour thin-film transistor (TFT) that is similar to a smartphone. It incorporates functions and features in 2D and 3D graphic display for navigation and media. There is now a three-view customizable screen via the infotainment with over 30 combinations options. The dials can also be pre-set to show a combination of data and a full 3D view map for better navigation.

On the exterior, the LED Taillights have been updated to a new unit with distinctive light graphics. More than a style factor, the new taillight also incorporates brake animation that enhances visibility for safety. The taillights continue to be an all LED system.

For added peace of mind, the upgrades will see no price hike to the Tiguan, and it will remain priced at RM 165,990 for the Highline and RM 175,990 for the JOIN variant. All Volkswagen cars come with 3 years free maintenance, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years roadside assistance. The Tiguan combines a 1.4TSI turbocharged direct injection engine with a 6-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG) with sport mode to give an impressive output of 150PS and a torque of 250Nm between 1,500 to 3,500rpm. It boasts an impressive acceleration of 8.9 seconds from 0 to 100kph.

The Tiguan boast safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Multi-collision brakes, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) as well as hill-hold control. For comfort, the Tiguan features Park Assist, Manoeuvre Braking and 3-Zone Climatronic. For complete connectivity, the Tiguan comes with App-Connect for easy access to apps via the 8”-inch infotainment touchscreen via MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

The production of the first generation Tiguan began in 2007 in Wolfsburg and has become Volkswagen’s most successful SUV to date with the 5 millionth unit leaving the assembly line in January 2019. The Volkswagen Training Academy in Glenmarie recently hosted the National Finals of the 2018/2019 Volkswagen Retail Qualification World Championship (RQWC). The Volkswagen RQWC is a global assessment that consists of online tests, theoretical and practical assessments, and exams that is open to all dealer staff – in particular services advisors, master technicians and parts service advisors. The assessment was created and tailored with the mission to strengthen dealer networks, improve quality and customer satisfaction in addition to providing insights on global standards and practices.

Kicking off last year, a total of 311 participants from the Volkswagen network in Malaysia took part in the online test, and a total of 27 top performers were chosen for the National Finals. The final 27 participants consist of 10 service advisors, 10 parts advisors and 7 master technicians.

The champions of the RQWC National Finals are Mr Lu Weng Jen from MHV Autohaus (Volkswagen Gombak) in the Service Advisor Category; Mr John Leow Zhi Kuan MHV Autohaus (Volkswagen Gombak) in the Parts Services Category; and Mr Yeoh Chun Ping from Goh Brother Motors (Volkswagen Juru) in the Master Technician category.

The 2018/2019 National Finals, which took place from the 19 to 21 February at the Volkswagen Training Academy was broken down into several modules for the respective categories over three days.  Services advisors were tested on soft skills, dialogue reception and aftersales systems, whereas parts advisors were tested on role-play scenarios, aftersales systems and underwent a written exam. The Master technicians were tested on dialogue reception, diagnostic competency, technical professional competency and systematic methodology.

Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM said that participations in global assessments are a way to continuously ensure excellence in local standards. “It goes without saying that our customers are our top priority – and this is but one of the major initiatives we are taking to uphold our Volkswagen  Cares philosophy to provide value-added, quality products and more importantly, exceptional service to our customers across our network.“
