In celebration of the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche France unveiled a unique edition of the current 911. The model borrows aesthetic cues from Le Mans and is based on the 911 Carrera GTS.

The vintage 356 SL, which won a class at Le Mans in 1951, and the exotic 911 GT1, which won the race overall with two French drivers at the wheel in 1998, both inspired the design of the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition.

Grant Larsson, the Director of Special Projects in the Porsche Style division and the person responsible for the original Boxster designed the special edition. 25 unique components were produced as a result of the project, which began in 2020.

The Mission X, a brand-new electric hypercar concept from Porsche, may be the fastest road-legal car to ever complete a lap of the renowned Nürburgring racetrack, according to the automaker. If it goes into production

The hypercar was displayed as part of Porsche’s 75th-anniversary commemoration of producing sports vehicles since the release of the original Porsche 356 on June 8, 1948.

The Mission X concept study is a compact hypercar, measuring around 4.5 metres long and two metres wide. Its dimensions are similar to those of the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, with a wheelbase of 2.73 metres. The prototype car has mixed-size tyres, with 20-inch wheels in front and 21-inch wheels in back, for aerodynamic reasons.

Electric vehicles require special handling when operating and maintaining them because they are intricate. Thus, navigational software is crucial to an EV. That has been General Motors‘ justification for excluding CarPlay and Android Auto from its next models and directing owners to its own Google-based built-in map app instead.

But Porsche has revealed that the Taycan now supports Apple Maps EV routing as a reminder that enabling CarPlay doesn’t always mean giving up such services.

The Exterior

Although clearly updated, the new Porsche Cayenne resembles the previous model in terms of appearance. This is to be expected after a makeover, but there are many small adjustments that keep it looking new.

At Auto Shanghai next month, the new Porsche Cayenne will have its world premiere and as is the practice these days, some of the highlights are revealed in advance. For the new generation of the successful SUV model, Porsche will have a completely new dashboard concept which is referred to as the Porsche Driver Experience, not just for the driver but also the front passenger.

Described as ‘a groundbreaking display and control concept’, the Porsche Driver Experience has a fully digital display, versatile individualisation and intuitive operation. The Porsche 911 is an all-time favourite amongst car enthusiasts. The looks that have evolved yet
stayed true to its roots and the fact that Porsche has retained the engine aft of the rear axle
despite every law of physics saying it shouldn’t work has kept enthusiasts intrigued and entertained.

The 911 simply could not get any better, or could it?

Enter Theon design, the British company whose self proclaimed purpose is to create the ultimate air-cooled Porsche 911.

After years of immaculate restorations and recreating classic Porsches up to and beyond their original condition, Theon has outdone itself with the introduction of the ITA001. It’s the first-ever Italian version of the Porsche 911 (964) and, was created for an Italian discerning collector from Milan.

The Cayenne, Porsche’s first SUV, is still in its third generation since being launched in 2017. During the past 5 years, there have been improvements in areas related to the powertrain, chassis, design, equipment and connectivity. This is usual for any carmaker as feedback from real-world usage by owners is received at the factory and measures are taken to address issues, while also improving the product in overall terms.

Occasionally, there are numerous improvements made with many new technologies and it is necessary not just to calibrate or tune many systems but also test them for durability and reliability. Prototypes are now undergoing rigorous testing – called ‘complete vehicle testing’ at Porsche – to ensure the operational stability and functionality of all components and systems as they interact – in situations that the customer experiences and far beyond.
