SDAC Announces Ford Ranger “Explore & Experience” Roadshow With Great Deals & Fun Family Activities For The Weekend

Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia, has announced the ‘Ford Ranger Explore & Experience Roadshow’ which will run in February until March.

Held at participating Ford showrooms, visitors will be able to explore and experience the Ranger’s smart and safe technologies which has helped the Ranger continue to set industry benchmarks and win multiple accolades, such as being awarded Pickup Truck of the Year in 2018. Opportunity on exciting promotions on selected Ford models will also be made available.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced the return of the highly-anticipated MercedesTrophy, the renowned international golf tournament that is open to all Mercedes-Benz customers to experience the Mercedes-Benz lifestyle through their passion for golf. About 1,000 Mercedes-Benz Malaysia customers are expected to participate in the tournament.

The MercedesTrophy is an exclusive international invitation tournament series for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia who are golf enthusiasts. More than 60,000 golfers in more than 60 countries tee off at this exclusive golf tournament every year. MercedesTrophy was introduced in 1991 and has now established itself an event taking place on every continent. The top two winners in each of the three handicap categories for Gentlemen and one winner of the Ladies’ Category at the National Final will qualify for the MercedesTrophy Regional Final Asia, with an all-expenses paid trip to Brisbane, Australia from 6 – 9 August 2019. Three Asian teams will be selected to represent Asia in the MercedesTrophy World Finals in Stuttgart, Germany from 30 September – 5 October 2019.

Once again this year, the first player to achieve a Hole-In-One on any of the two designated par-3 holes at each venue will win the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 worth RM293,888. SDAP Porsche Adds New 718 Cayman SportDesign Series To Its Range! [+Video]

More than two years after making its debut in Malaysia, the 718 Cayman has now been treated to a sporty new option package with the introduction of the new 718 Cayman SportDesign Series by Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP).

The series is available exclusively to 15 limited units, with 5 available in each of the following attractive exterior colours: Racing Yellow, Guards Red, and Carrara White Metallic. Furthermore, the extensive list of options provided as standard includes a number of features designed to immerse the driver and passenger in the full Porsche experience and offers a competitive price advantage for interested buyers. The highly exclusive car will be available for viewing across all Porsche Centres simultaneously.

“The 718 Cayman SportDesign Series is aimed particularly at drivers who appreciate a vehicle that is suitable for everyday use but do not want to sacrifice sportiness,” said Christopher Hunter, (above) Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

Design
The 718 Cayman SportDesign Series stands out from the 718 model line not only in terms of performance, but also in its visual design. The result is a subtle carbon fibre design for an extra element of individualisation. The new SportDesign Series also enhances the overall appearance, complemented by the SportDesign Package which has a unique front end with a newly designed front spoiler and rear apron. The contrasting black accents on the door handles and the centrally positioned black tailpipes from the standard sports exhaust system gives the SportDesign Series its contrasting sporty appearance.

LED main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+) helps to ensure optimum visibility without hindering other road users. At the rear, the three-dimensional design of the taillights incorporating four-spot brake lights leaves a lasting impression. The vehicle rolls on the 20-inch wheels are available in either the Carrera S or Carrera Sport Wheel design. A forged one-piece alloy wheel in high gloss black completes the side view.

Interior
The accented colour of the exterior colour scheme, combined with the carbon decorative and black leather interior package makes the 718 Cayman SportDesign Series even more visually succinct. For an even greater driving experience, the car is equipped with 14-way power seats that include comfort memory foam for the driver and front passenger. To further complement the luxurious interior, a Bose Surround Sound System comes standard with 10 loudspeakers, offers a total output of 505 watts, and provides a sophisticated audio experience of the highest calibre.

Performance
For the ambitious drivers, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is fitted as standard. This lowers the body of the 718 Cayman SportDesign by 10mm and offers for a sportier chassis tuning for greater agility. To further enhance vehicle performance, the Sport Chrono Package and PDK, the 718 Cayman SportDesign Series is able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just under four seconds.

The 718 Cayman SportDesign Series is priced at RM625,000 and exclusively limited to only 15 units. As with all vehicles sold by Sime Darby Auto Performance, it comes with a four-year warranty and free maintenance package for peace-of-mind ownership. All-New Toyota Camry Receives 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Safety Rating [+Crash Test Videos]

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT), the distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia has announced that its newly launched 2019 Toyota Camry has been awarded with a full 5-star rating at the recent New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) crash test result.

The All New Camry which was launched December last year in Malaysia, received 49.04 points for the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 22.68 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP) and 19.75 point for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs) assessments. With the Camry scoring in all aspects including effective breaking avoidance, seat belt reminders, blind spot technology and advance safety assist technologies, it received 5-Star rating with an overall score of 91.47 points.

Completely redesigned for the 8th generation since it was first introduced for the Malaysian market in the early 1990s, the All New Toyota Camry is available in the 2.5V variant. It is featured with advanced Toyota Safety Sense such as Pre-collision System, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) as well as Automatic High Beam (AHB). The styling of the Camry is more futuristic and expressive. Using the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the company had taken a new approach in designing, engineering and developing a Camry that has very responsive handling, tougher vehicle body and other world-class features that provide peace of mind, as well as the pleasure of driving.

The announcement was made at the launching ceremony of the ASEAN NCAP Labelling Compliance Guideline 2019 for Malaysia by Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

It will become mandatory for manufacturers to display the ASEAN NCAP rating label on their vehicles on sale starting from 1^st March 2020, to ensure that consumers are well aware of the NCAP ratings of the vehicle they want to purchase.
