During the launch of the new facelifted Honda City today, Honda Malaysia made a shock announcement regarding the fate of the Accord.

Honda Malaysia CEO, Mr Hironobu Yoshimura, announced that the Honda Accord will no longer be offered for sale in Malaysia.

The news comes as a surprise, but one that is not exactly unexpected.

Honda Malaysia has refocused its efforts towards its SUV models in recent times, and this was obvious with the recent discontinuation of the BRV, which was replaced by the WRV.

The launch of the WRV made Honda Malaysia the first non-national car maker to explore the small SUV segment.

And judging by the sheer number of bookings (2,500 bookings) Honda Malaysia received before the launch, the company is on track for success in the new segment.

Even globally, the demand for SUV’s continues to rise while the demand for D-segment sedans like the Accord has dropped considerably.

So it comes as no surprise then that the Honda Malaysia has pulled the plug from the Accord, marking a sad but necessary demise of a car that offered a spaciousness and comfort in a handsome package.

Kia unveiled the brand-new Kia K3 as the successor to the Rio at a global premiere that took place in Mexico City. The moniker “K3” is usually used for the Cerato or Forte, however, it looks like the company is opting for something different now.

The 1.6-litre engine will be available for the Kia K3, and for the first time, a new sporty GT-Line grade with a 2.0-litre engine will also be offered. Six airbags, an ABS braking system, and an ESC electronic stabilisation programme are all standard safety equipment on the K3, while the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) capabilities are available as optional upgrades.

With the introduction of the BMW 7-Series Security Vehicle in 1978, BMW has more than 40 years of experience producing armoured vehicles. Up to the 2004 release of the BMW X5 Security, two more generations of the 7-Series would go on to be used as security cars. Since then, the 7-Series and X5 have both remained in the company’s lineup of armoured vehicles.

The new BMW 7-Series Protection is the first armoured version of the current generation of the 7-Series. There is also a protection model for the electric BMW i7. The doors, underbody, and roof of each model are strengthened by the addition of an armoured steel body known as the BMW Protection Core.

If you don’t know, Hennessey Venom F5 welcomed a third into their lineup in January of this year which was the Venom F5 Revolution, a track-focused redesign with increased downforce and better handling.

New fascias with larger splitters and diffusers, a large wing at the back, and dive planes on the corners of the front clip are added. When the single-piece roof is out, it overhangs the cockpit just a little bit and is attached to the engine cover.

The Volkswagen Golf R represents the most potent of the Golf range. Offering the brand’s sportiest and most emotionally stirring driving experience, and perhaps motivating generations of hatchback aficionados as well as other car makers to follow suite.

The R32, which was introduced more than 20 years ago and had a 3.2-litre naturally aspirated version of Volkswagen’s distinctive VR6 engine, is where the Golf R’s genealogy begins. Additionally, the R32 was also the first Volkswagen to come with a dual-clutch gearbox. The R torch was later carried on by the Mk 6 and the Mk 7.
