The 2023 Formula 1 World Championship will have the most number of rounds since it was inaugurated in 1950. Starting on March 5 in Bahrain, the championship will consist of 24 rounds and run until November 26 when the final round is run in Abu Dhabi.

“I am delighted that we will be able to take Formula 1’s new era of exciting racing, created by the FIA’s 2022 Regulations, to a broader fan base in 2023. In framing the 2023 F1 calendar, World Motor Sports Council Members have also been mindful of the timing of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans [which will be run for the 100th time next year],” said FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Fuel price updates for the following week (effective after midnight today) see RON97 petrol being reduced again, this time by 10 sen per litre. Other grades remain unchanged as the government continues to subsidize the pump prices.

Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd now has a medium and heavy-duty (MHD) truck dealership in Sabah to provide a complete range of sales and aftersales services to customers. The first MHD truck dealer is Universal Motor Sdn Bhd which is located in the state’s capital city of Kota Kinabalu. With this new MHD dealership, Isuzu Malaysia now has 12 MHD dealerships nationwide.

The dealership, which occupies a land area of 3.5 acres, has a total of 20 service bays, 13 of which are for light-duty trucks, medium, heavy-duty trucks and prime movers. The remaining 7 bays are for the D-MAX pick-up truck, a popular Isuzu model with multi-role capabilities for business and personal use.

At last, a new Mitsubishi ASX has officially been announced. The model has been around a rather long time, being freshened with cosmetic updates and special editions for the past 12 years. At one point, Mitsubishi Motors (MMC) even had plans to assemble it at Proton’s factory but when that did not materialize, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia went ahead to have it assembled at the Tan Chong plant in Kuala Lumpur.

If this new second generation of the ASX looks somewhat familiar, you’re right. It’s similar to the Renault Captur sold by TC Euro Cars in Malaysia and has been adapted to become Mitsubishi model. Having joined the Renault-Nissan Alliance in 2017 (after Nissan acquired a controlling share in MMC), the carmaker had access to the products and technology of the Alliance. This helped it to freshen its model line-up which had stagnated due to its weak financial position.

Since making its entry in 2015, Viper Niza Racing has been among the more successful fully Malaysian racing teams in regional and international competition. Its most significant victory was the class win at the 2019 TCR SPA500 24-Hour endurance race in Belgium with a CUPRA Leon.

Now, after 105 race starts by its driver and Team Principal & Owner, Douglas Khoo, Viper Niza Racing is taking a big step forward with two new racing cars for an assault in international and regional GT sportscar racing.

The locally-assembled Honda City Hybrid (model year 2021) and Civic Sedan (model year 2022) are being recalled by Honda Malaysia to rectify two issues. While these issues have not caused any injuries or accidents, the company is being proactive as a precautionary safety measure.

Honda Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience caused to owners of the affected and reassures that other current production and selling models are not affected in this product recall. The company believes this product recall is necessary as customer safety is Honda Malaysia’s top priority.
