At the Lumut Maritime Port in Sitiawan, a 20-year-old lorry driver identified as Aqil Rasydan Razmi drowned after it was reported that he dozed off while operating the vehicle yesterday.

“Initial investigations found that the incident happened in the Lumut Port area involving a lorry. During the incident, workers were unloading stones from the lorry,” said District police chief Assistant Commissioner Nor Omar Sappi.

Hyundai Motor’s IONIQ 6 has won the 2023 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) title, as well as the World Car Design of the Year and World Electric Vehicle awards. The Hyundai Motor Group also collected another award for the Kia EV6 GT which won the World Performance Car title.

The IONIQ 6 – also known as the ‘Electric Streamliner’ – beat the other finalists which included the BMW X1/iX1 and the Kia Niro for the overall title. The IONIQ 6 was one of 21 original vehicles that were in contention for the 2023 WCOTY awards in the 19th year of the event.

This is the second consecutive triple win for the Hyundai Motor Group as the IONIQ 5 was last year’s winner in the same three categories.

A woman experienced a traumatic event on Sunday when inconsiderate people threw rocks at her car, breaking the windshield along Jalan Mempaga, close to Lurah Bilut, Pahang.

Nurcahaya Jaafar, 35, claimed that she was driving a Perodua Viva at the time of the incident, which happened at around 8:50 p.m., along with her husband and two kids aged six and seven months old.

In Japan, a motorway connecting Tokyo and Nagoya will soon have a lane designated for self-driving trucks.

The goal is to make it possible for the first driverless trucks to go on a designated route in total safety and apart from other vehicles.
