At the recent Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), arguably the most popular EV brand in Malaysia BYD revealed one of it’s latest models – the BYD Seal.

The Chinese EV specialist BYD was founded in 1995 and boasts more than 27 years of expertise, establishing itself as an industry leader in electronics, automotive and renewable energy.

The brand has done shockingly well in Malaysia over the past few months with the Atto 3, and it seems like that dominance is set to continue with the BYD Seal.

Seen at the Bangkok International Motor Show just yesterday, BYD has confirmed that 5-seater Seal will be available in Malaysia by the end of 2023.

It is already being hailed as a Tesla slayer, so here’s everything you need to know about it.

A new generation of the Mitsubishi Triton is on the way and to give the world an idea of what it will like is the XRT Concept. Mitsubishi Motors is displaying the concept truck at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show this week,

Japanese cars have been exported to Malaysia since the 1950s, becoming dominant until the national carmakers started. Then came Japanese motorsports (besides Japanese food and supermarkets) and now, we also have a Japanese motorshow coming to Malaysia for the first time this year.

It’s not the Tokyo Motor Show but the Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS) which, though younger by 29 years, is today well established and as popular as the Tokyo Motor Show. However, the TAS is a different type of motorshow and has focussed on performance and aftermarket instead of new cars and concept car.

Nevertheless, in recent years, the event has also seen participation from major carmakers who have promoted their performance products to more receptive visitors. The TAS has thus grown in significance in the same way that the SEMA show in America.

Public transportation users can now breathe a sigh of relief as the implementation of debit and credit cards are now in the works.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said this system is expected to be active in the next few months. He also mentioned that he has ordered all their agencies to adopt this open payment system.

LRT users now only have two options which is Touch ‘n Go or buying a token from the vending machine which if you ask me, is kind of outdated. For Touch ‘n Go to be around since 1997, with no major updates, it’s time the public get other payment options as the financial world is moving forward.

Everything now is being modernised and this debit card/credit card system is something that will make things easier for the public as they do not have to worry about topping up their Touch ‘n Go or waiting in line to buy a token.

For those hesitant to change, there’s good news as the credit and debit card system will complement the existing Touch ‘n Go system rather than have it replace the older system entirely.
