Lexus has introduced the RZ 450e F Sport Performance, a special edition electric crossover, at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. Limited to 100 units for sale exclusively in Japan, this model brings a sporty aesthetic to the RZ lineup. While the F Sport Performance maintains the standard power figures of the RZ 450e, it focuses on improved handling, featuring track-tuned dampers and springs from Toyota’s Shimoyama Technical Centre.
The special edition boasts a distinctive appearance, with 17 new aero parts enhancing its aerodynamic profile. Notable additions include a dual carbon fibre wing setup, with one wing extending from the roof and a second attached to the raked rear hatch. A rear spoiler below the second wing adds a unique touch. The front end receives a carbon fibre splitter with blue accents, complemented by a vented hood. Additional aero elements around the wheels and a specific rear valance complete the exterior enhancements.
To set it apart, the F Sport Performance is finished in a new matte paint colour called Hakugin, described as “white-silver,” inspired by the silent silver world of light and shadow. Blue and black accents contrast against the matte paint, extending to the interior. The cabin features black Ultrasuede seats with blue stitching and various blue trim elements throughout the dashboard and interior.
Pricing for the RZ 450e F Sport Performance is approximately $82,000 (RM381k), and interested buyers in Japan must participate in a lottery system for a chance to purchase one of the 100 units produced. Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has revealed the evolved version of its iconic GR Yaris, reinforcing its commitment to the continuous improvement of motorsports-bred cars. The GR Yaris, symbolic of TGR’s dedication to excellence, has undergone rigorous testing and competition evolution since its launch in September 2020.
Central to this evolution is the introduction of a newly developed 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission. This transmission, honed through motorsports testing and diverse road conditions, boasts optimised software for sporty driving, achieving world-class gear-shifting speeds and close-ratio gears for optimal power band utilisation. The RZ “High performance” trim is equipped with a Torsen LSD for enhanced driving force control.
The engine performance sees an increase in output from 272PS to 304PS and torque from 370Nm to 400Nm.
In terms of cockpit design, the control panel and display have been tilted 15 degrees towards the driver for improved visibility and operability. The driving posture has been enhanced, forward visibility expanded, and the shift lever position optimised. A 12.3-inch full-colour TFT gauge display, inspired by professional race drivers, offers crucial vehicle information.
The exterior design incorporates motorsports input with features like an upgraded lower grille, larger side lower grilles for improved cooling, and a rear lower garnish with an opening to reduce aerodynamic drag.
Chassis and body reinforcements include an increased number of bolts fastening the body to shock absorbers and additional spot welding points, resulting in improved handling stability. A “Cooling Package” enhances cooling performance with options like a sub-radiator, cool air intake, and intercooler sprayer.
The GR Yaris also introduces a standard drive mode selection function for both sporty and everyday driving. The optional vertical parking brake, influenced by motorsports, enhances operational efficiency in competitions. TGR plans to offer an upgrade service for the GRMN Yaris, incorporating lessons from the evolved GR Yaris and motorsports participation.

Commissioned by BYD, China’s top-selling auto brand and a prominent player in the electric vehicle market, the cargo ship is managed by Zodiac Maritime Ltd. and constructed by International Marine Containers Group Co.
As part of BYD’s ambitious growth strategy, the Explorer No. 1 embarks on its maiden voyage to Europe, with the goal of expanding overseas sales. BYD, despite outselling Tesla in electric vehicle sales during the fourth quarter of 2023, aims to solidify its position as the number one electric vehicle manufacturer globally.
Togg, the Turkish electric car manufacturer, took the stage at CES 2024 to unveil the near-production prototype of their highly anticipated T10F electric fastback sedan, slated for release in 2025. With a design philosophy that transcends traditional automotive boundaries, Togg positions the T10F as more than just a car – it’s a “connected smart device.”
Design
The T10F, following in the footsteps of its T10X crossover sibling, boasts a striking design characterised by a fully enclosed grille adorned with chrome accents, resembling tulip petals. The LED headlights, flanking the grille, are complemented by boomerang-shaped daytime running lights, while a large central intake and triangular air curtains contribute to the aerodynamic profile.
Moving to the rear, digital side mirrors, flush door handles, and a pronounced shoulder line enhance the sleek silhouette. The contrasting black roof and a curvaceous rear end, featuring a slender light bar, complete the exterior aesthetic.
Inside, Togg has integrated cutting-edge technology, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a massive 29-inch widescreen infotainment system taking centre stage. This powerhouse variant can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.6 seconds.
Togg aims for a remarkable WLTP range of 600km with the long-range battery, featuring an 88.5 kWh capacity. The standard 52.4 kWh battery is targeted to deliver a range of 350km. Notably, a 180 kW DC fast charger can recharge the battery from 20-80% in a swift 28 minutes.

Honda is set to introduce a fresh logo for its electric vehicles (EVs), updating the current “H” that has been a constant presence on all Honda cars since 1981.
The new logo, described as representing “two outstretched hands,” features a thinner and more minimalist design compared to the current H, omitting the trapezoid border. This logo transformation bears a resemblance to Honda’s original logo from 1963, with a similar thin and top-heavy structure.
The updated logo is scheduled to debut on the upcoming 0 Series electric cars, a new lineup of next-generation EVs set to be introduced in the United States starting in 2026.
The first two 0 Series vehicles, the Saloon and Space-Hub concepts, will showcase the redesigned emblem, with the Saloon serving as inspiration for a future production model in the American market.

The Saloon, positioned as the flagship model, is built on a dedicated EV platform, featuring a low and wide exterior design complemented by a surprisingly spacious interior. Sustainability is at the forefront, with the use of eco-friendly materials both inside and outside the vehicle. The Saloon introduces advancements in steer-by-wire and motion control management systems, leveraging Honda’s expertise in robotics. The Honda 0 Series embodies a fresh approach to EV development, guided by three core principles: Thin, Light, and Wise. These principles aim to challenge conventional limitations in battery electric vehicles and build upon Honda’s long-standing engineering philosophies, such as “M/M” (man maximum/machine minimum). Key aspects of the Honda 0 Series will include a dedicated thin EV platform for aerodynamic performance, software-defined mobility products for an intelligent user experience, advancements in design, automated driving, connected technologies, performance, and battery efficiency.
The series will introduce a new design philosophy called “The Art of Resonance,” emphasising harmony among the environment, society, and users through sustainable materials and emotionally resonant design. Honda 0 Series models will feature an advanced driver-assistive system (ADAS) based on Honda SENSING Elite technologies, with plans to introduce the next generation of automated driving features in the late 2020s. The new AD system, developed around a “human-centric” safety concept, incorporates advanced AI, sensing, recognition, and driver monitoring technologies for human-like, natural, and high-precision risk predictions.
Honda is also developing an original operating system for Honda 0 Series models, leveraging AI and driver data to learn user preferences and behaviours. The system will enhance the ownership experience by making suggestions and providing information about the surroundings, route guidance for the “last mile,” and continuous value addition based on user behaviour.
The Honda 0 Series aims to deliver a sporty driving experience with electrification and performance technologies derived from Honda’s motorsports experience, including Formula 1 racing. The series will feature e-Axles for power and efficiency, advanced aerodynamic technologies, and a high-density battery offering ample range while minimising size. To address concerns about charging time and battery degradation, Honda 0 Series models launching in the late 2020s will offer fast-charging reduced to about 10-15 minutes from 15% to 80% battery capacity. Additionally, Honda aims to minimise battery degradation to less than 10% after 10 years of use through advanced battery system control technology.
