The ‘Parametric Jewel’ radiator grille, which is present in the most recent models as well, is a distinctly Hyundai aesthetic element.

For an automaker like Mazda, you would think that its technology would be amazing. But, when it arrives on sale in global showrooms later this year, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 is unlikely to match the efficiency of Toyota’s top hybrid technology in the sector.

The new Mazda SUV’s hybrid technology will only operate at low speeds, according to a senior Mazda engineer, which is projected to result in modest real-world fuel economy improvements. The new CX-90, which goes on sale this August, will offer two in-line six-cylinder turbocharged gasoline or diesel engines. Both of these engines will be mated to eight-speed multi-clutch automatic transmissions and supported by 48-volt “mild” hybrid technology.

Hydrogen is seen as having a lot of potential as a fuel for vehicle propulsion systems. It is a very clean energy source and is the most abundant element in the universe. For this reason, some carmakers have been developing propulsion systems which use hydrogen in various forms.

Currently, the gas is used in a fuel cell which has a chemical reaction that generates electricity that can then be stored and used to power electric motors. Companies like Toyota, Honda and Hyundai have already commercialised fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) for some years now, selling them in certain markets.

Hydrogen can also be used in other forms and Toyota has been carrying out R&D into liquid hydrogen as a fuel. It is still in early stages but is using motorsport as a development laboratory. In the high-pressured world of competition, extreme conditions are created and provide engineers with useful data for development work.

Early this year, Meta informed customers that as of January 30, it will no longer let sellers create used-vehicle listings using a Facebook business profile. Similar limitations that applied to rentals and real properties were also put in place. The adjustments come after Facebook decided to stop allowing dealerships to use marketing partners to push goods into Facebook Marketplace in 2021.

Some dealers claim they will accept the additional advertising costs imposed by the modifications to use the platform to reach their intended online audience. Others said that the new regulations won’t have much of an impact because their profits through the Facebook Marketplace were so minimal.

During the major festive seasons, traffic volumes on the highways increase tremendously as millions of vehicles travel around the country. On other days of the year, traffic flow is generally smooth (unless there’s an accident or roadworks) and motorists can travel safely and speedily between destinations.

This weekend, PLUS Malaysia anticipates another wave of high traffic volume on its highways from Saturday till Monday (April 29 to May 1) as it is the end of the school holidays and there is also a national holiday (Labour Day) on Monday.

In view of this greater volume of traffic, the SmartLane concept will be activated along certain sections of the North-South Expressway. When activated, vehicles are permitted to use the Emergency Lane for specified periods so that there is additional lane capacity to ease the congestion.
