With quicker charging times and greater ranges, electric vehicles (EV) have come a long way. Despite this, some customers still experience range anxiety, which is understandable. When travelling, you wouldn’t want to run out of power.

Ford recently came up with a concept to allay any worries about running out of charge. The American manufacturer recently submitted a patent application for an electric vehicle spare battery system located on the roof of your car.

The popular Innova line, which was initially one of the models created under the Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle (IMV) programme, is enhanced by the brand-new Toyota Innova Zenix, an all-new MPV.

The designers abandoned the previous IMV strategy used for the Innova in favour of a completely new design that is still part of the Innova family but bears the moniker “Zenix” to differentiate it as the flagship model.

It will be available in two versions:

  • Innova Zenix 2.0 V (8-seater) with a 2-litre Dynamic Force petrol engine and CVT
  • Innova Zenix 2.0 HEV (7-seater) with a Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) drivetrain

Exterior

The all-new Zenix is more spacious although its dimensions are not much different from the previous model – the Innova CG. The new Innova Zenix offers 20 mm more length and 15 mm more width, 100 mm extra length in the wheelbase, and a similar overall height.

After months of teasing and speculating, Toyota has officially unveiled the all-new Alphard and Vellfire.

Sales have begun in Japan with the fourth-generation model available in two variations: an HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) and an ICE (internal combustion engine). In the future, a PHEV version will also be released as a part of the business’s strategy to become carbon neutral.

Exterior

Both MPVs have the same width (1,850 mm) and wheelbase (3,000 mm) but are longer than before (4,995 mm). Depending on the model and version, the height of the MPVs barely changes, ranging between 1,935 mm and 1,945 mm.

According to Toyota, these measurements are required to ensure that the MPVs adhere to the 5,000 mm length and 1,850 mm width limits of Japan’s standard automatic parking systems. Nevertheless, the development team was able to add 5 mm and 10 mm, respectively, to the distance between the front and second rows of seats and the second and third rows.

Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer claims the widely condemned addition of touch-sensitive controls (haptic buttons) to his brand’s models “definitely did a lot of damage” and he has vowed to introduce more straightforward, useful interiors in all upcoming vehicles.

The next-generation Tiguan will be the first model to benefit from the updated layout.

The interior of the new Tiguan, which was fully unveiled in pre-production form without any camouflage, has reportedly received significant attention from Volkswagen. The huge 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which projects somewhat conspicuously from the dashboard, is the vehicle’s most notable feature. The whole digital cockpit experience is enhanced by a head-up display and a smaller digital instrument cluster.

Lamborghini and Audi have been in bed under the Volkswagen Group for what seems like eons now. And part of the benefits of that relationship is spreading out costs for model development because investing a lot of money in a niche product entails taking a lot of financial risks.

The first and second-generation R8 models shared the same underpinnings with the Gallardo and Huracan. But Ingolstadt has now made it clear that there won’t be a third, while Sant’Agata has declared that a brand-new baby Lambo will make its debut in 2024.

After many successful years, the Huracan replacement will be an all-Lamborghini endeavor, according to Asia-Pacific area director Francesco Scardaoni. So where did all that money needed for an all-new model development come from? The success of the Urus of course. The Urus is to Lamborghini what the Cayenne is to Porsche, both are savior models.
