Number plates have evolved into distinctive canvases that represent personal hobbies, funny statements, and even status symbols. They are no longer limited to simple letter and digit combinations for identifying reasons. These number plates can be sold or auctioned for a large sum of money.

Take for instance, Azhar Sulaiman, a local actor, who intends to auction his vehicle’s registration plate, MAF14, with bidding commencing at a minimum price of RM1.85 million. The actor uploaded the announcement through their Instagram social media account.

“The only MAFIA title to be released. Bidding starts at RM1.85 million. If you’re a true mafia, make a bid if you dare,” he stated. Behar, the amiable alias of Azhar Sulaiman, also provided a portion of the Vehicle Motor Licence (LKM) as proof that he was the rightful owner of the MAF14 registration number.

So if you have RM1.85 million laying around, and you feel like a Godfather, you may contact the actor to purchase it.

Industry experts predict challenges for the internal combustion engine (ICE) driven second hand car market due to the growing focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. This could lead to higher costs and taxes for ICE vehicles, raising doubts about the sustainability of the second hand car industry.

The delay in adopting ESG principles is a concern, notably seen in the environmentally harmful reputation of the used car market. This is due to reliance on old, polluting vehicles using fossil fuels.

In a recent update, Honda Malaysia has reported delivering 2,200 units of the all-new WR-V in just a single month following its official launch in July 2023.

The corporation additionally marked the first customer who placed a reservation for Honda’s compact SUV in Malaysia. This was observed through an official handover event held in early August at Accord Auto Sdn. Bhd. As a token of gratitude to mark this significant occurrence, the customer was granted Honda accessories, ultra glass body coating, and official merchandise, with a combined value of RM5,000.

In time for the brand’s sixth appearance at the Quail event, Gunther Werks, specialists in Porsche recreations, recently unveiled their most current rendition of the 993 platform. This new turbocharged behemoth, known as the Touring Turbo Edition, which has vintage design cues as a testament to the final chapter of the air-cooled period.

In contrast to the prominent wing, the Touring variant features a subtle ducktail rear spoiler, drawing inspiration from the 1972 Carrera 2.7 RS. The intention is to achieve a more refined and elegant appearance rather than an aggressive one. This concept aligns with Porsche’s approach to their Touring models.

Novitec needs no introduction, but for the uninitiated, the company specialises in making unique changes for well-known Italian automakers including Ferrari, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Lamborghini. Novitec’s recent take was with a Ferrari 812 Competizione. Not so much on the visual side, but more performance-focused upgrades were done.

For both the brand-new 5 Series and i5 models, BMW has developed a variety of M Performance Parts, addressing the needs of consumers who want to improve the appearance of their executive cars.

The external options include a front spoiler lip, side skirts, a three-part rear diffuser, and a rear boot lid spoiler for cars with the M Sport or M Sport Pro package. These parts are made of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP), which makes them both light and strong. Also, available in CFRP material are optional extras like side mirror covers and an Aramid antenna cover.

Mini is always known to create special/limited editions of its models. This time, Mini is commemorating the success of the Bulldog Racing team, a private racing team situated in Nürburg, Germany. The team secured a second-place finish in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring event for this year. Their achievement was in the category for production-based cars with an engine displacement ranging from 1,600 to 2,000cc and equipped with a turbocharger.

The sales of second-hand cars are predicted to slow down for the remainder of the year, primarily due to the conclusion of the sales tax exemption on March 31. According to Datuk Tony Khor, the President of the Federation of Motor and Credit Companies Association of Malaysia, the sales of used cars during the first quarter of the year were comparable to the same period in the previous year. However, sales began to decline starting from the second quarter.

As reported by TheStar, Khor explained that the strong sales of used cars in the first quarter were influenced by the deadline of March 31, which was set for car manufacturers to deliver models ordered by customers to take advantage of the sales tax exemption under the National Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana). As more individuals purchased new cars, the necessity to trade in their old cars increased.
