There is no denying that the Chinese have completely dominated the electric vehicle segment. In fact, they are not just dominating it, they have come to define it and lead the way in innovation. The rest? Well, they have been left behind, or have they?

The world is catching up, sometimes working together with Chinese suppliers, and sometimes even surpassing them in certain elements, like design. Take the KIA EV9 for example, it is a really capable big EV, and it looks fantastic as well. We spent a few good days with it, and found it hard to return.

But the eMas 7 is a big deal because it marks the first electric vehicle to carry the Proton badge. And despite what Proton has been saying, the eMas 7 is actually a Geely product, particularly the E5, with little to no input from Proton itself. Not even the styling.

As for pricing, the eMas 7 starts from RM105,800 and tops out at RM119,800 for the long range model.
