Barbie, the American fashion doll which has had over a million clones worldwide since being ‘born’ in 1959 had an Austin Healey as her first car. But as she got older, she had a liking for Chevrolet Corvettes (typically pink) and also had many sportscars as well as a Rolls-Royce. She’s no stranger to Italian cars either, having had a Ferrari 328GTS in her garage.

Now she’ll also have a limited edition Maserati Grecale in her name and there will be only three real units of the new SUV. The Barbie Maserati Grecale is the result of an unconventional collaboration between the Italian sportscar maker and Mattel, the brand owners of Barbie.

2023 is the 50th year of the Honda Civic and it has also been 25 years since the brand’s iconic high-performance Type R model stormed into the market. To mark this significant milestone year, Honda has launched the new Civic Type R as the most powerful Type R ever.

Based on the latest 11th generation Civic hatchback version, the new Civic Type R has advancements and application of motorsport-derived technologies that allow it to exceed the capabilities of even the stripped-out, lightweight version of the previous model.

Sime Darby Motors represents (through its subsidiaries) a number of different automotive brands and as part of its commitment to principals, it has to provide a high standard of sales and aftersales support. Besides showrooms, Sime Darby Motors also has a Centralised Body and Paint Centre located in Bukit Jelutong, Selangor, to provide repair and refinishing services.

The Sime Darby Motors centre was recently accredited to the Volvo Certified Damage Repair (VCDR) standard for such facilities. This means it meets the high standards set and required by the Swedish carmaker for such services. The VCDR standard involves the use of a state-of-the-art body repair system and advanced tools, including a fast and highly accurate 3D sensor-equipped measuring system. An efficient paint booth setup was also put in place, creating a well-ventilated and dust-free environment.

As reported in August, Audi will participate in the Formula 1 World Championship from 2026, the first time that the German carmaker is doing so. Audi will have Sauber as its strategic partner and plans to acquire a stake in the Sauber Group. The partnership will see the traditional Swiss racing team competing as an official factory team, using the power unit developed by Audi.

Development of the power unit, which consists of an electric motor, battery, control systems and a combustion engine, has already begun at the facility of the newly formed Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Germany. More than 120 employees are already working on the project.

While the power unit will be created at Audi’s Motorsport Competence Centre, Sauber will develop and manufacture the racing car at its site in Switzerland. It will also be responsible for planning and executing the race operations.

All fuel prices remain unchanged for the following week, based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism. RON97 continues to be unsubsidised while other grades continue to be subsidised by the government to maintain pump prices at a fixed level.

With the completion of the Rally de Espana recently, and a win by Sebastien Ogier, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team won its third World Rally Championship (WRC) Manufacturers title. The Manufacturers title follows the Drivers and Co-drivers titles that were won by Kalle Rovanpera and Jonne Halttunen on the previous rally in New Zealand.

This is the second year in a row that the team has managed a clean sweep of the three top titles. In total, this is the sixth occasion that Toyota has topped the WRC’s Manufacturers’ classification, the third time since it returned to the series in 2017.
