Ferrari to Unveil Its First Electric Car Along Five Other Models

Ferrari is set to launch its first-ever electric vehicle (EV) later this year, marking a historic shift for the legendary Italian automaker. CEO Benedetto Vigna confirmed the news during Ferrari’s latest financial results presentation but remained tight-lipped on specific details. However, he assured that the new model would stand apart from other EVs, promising a “unique” combination of style, performance, and driving excitement.

A Crossover or GT, Not a Traditional Sports Car?

While Ferrari has yet to reveal the vehicle’s design, spy photos circulating online suggest the EV will likely be a crossover or grand tourer (GT) rather than a traditional sports car. Test mules spotted around Maranello feature a four-door hatchback-style body, fake exhaust pipes, and synthesised engine sounds, hinting at Ferrari’s approach to blending electrification with its signature driving experience.

The launch of Ferrari’s first EV is a major milestone, sparking both excitement and debate among car enthusiasts. Even for those hesitant about Ferrari entering the EV space, curiosity is inevitable—how will the brand translate its legendary performance into an all-electric future?

Five More Ferrari Models Coming in 2025

While the EV will be Ferrari’s most significant debut of 2025, it won’t be the only new model. Vigna confirmed that five additional Ferrari vehicles are set to launch this year, including the highly anticipated 12Cilindri Spider.

Another likely arrival is the Roma successor, which has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage in Italy. The front-engined GT was discontinued in 2024, making way for an upgraded replacement that could retain a V8 or hybridized powertrain.

Ferrari’s Strategy Remains Unchanged Despite Market Shifts

Despite the recent slowdown in EV demand, Vigna reaffirmed Ferrari’s commitment to its petrol-hybrid-EV roadmap outlined in 2022. The company’s strategy remains unchanged, even amid potential U.S. tariff hikes under Donald Trump’s proposed trade policies, which could impact European imports.

As Ferrari gears up for its first EV launch and a wave of new models, 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal years in the brand’s history.
