The year 2024 marked another historic milestone for Malaysia’s automotive industry, driven by the influx of new market entrants and a series of high-profile vehicle launches. The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) responded to this remarkable growth by revising its 2024 total industry volume (TIV) forecast to an impressive 800,000 new vehicle sales. Among the standout performers was premium SUV market challenger Jaecoo, which achieved a remarkable 7,041 Jaecoo J7 SUV registrations within just five months of its retail launch in Malaysia.
To celebrate this extraordinary achievement, Jaecoo Malaysia hosted its first-ever dealership awards ceremony, recognizing 12 top-performing dealerships for their contributions to the brand’s success. The awardees represented dealerships from across Malaysia, including the Klang Valley, northern, and southern regions. Notably, the southern region led the country in sales performance. Moving forward, Jaecoo plans to enhance its evaluation criteria to include Customer Service Index (CSI) and Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) scores, underscoring its commitment to elevating customer service standards.
Among the honorees, Auto Galaksi Sdn Bhd, based in Johor, emerged as the star of the event, clinching the prestigious ‘Dealer of the Year’ award. Managing Director Dato’ Desmond Tien reflected on this accomplishment, saying, “This achievement reflects the unwavering trust and support of our valued customers and business partners. We are grateful to the Jaecoo Management for their exceptional leadership and vision, which have been instrumental in paving the way for success. To prime the market for this innovative model, Jaecoo will host a long-range drive event showcasing the J7 PHEV’s exceptional efficiency. The journey will span Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand on a single tank and charge, demonstrating the vehicle’s advanced hybrid technology and commitment to sustainable mobility.
