The Perodua Suppliers Association (P2SA) and the Perodua Dealers’ Association (PDA) have strengthened their positions in the automotive ecosystem, riding on Perodua’s record-breaking performance in 2024.
“Over the past couple of years, Perodua has procured tens of billions of Ringgit worth of automotive components from our members, marking the highest purchase volume in our history,” said P2SA President Musa Zahidin Tan Sri Ahmad Zaidee.
These significant investments have empowered P2SA members to reinvest and expand their operations, enhancing economies of scale and bolstering competitiveness amid rising external costs.
Supporting Record Production Levels
Musa commended Perodua’s transparent communication and support, which enabled P2SA members to meet the automaker’s unprecedented production achievement of 368,100 vehicles in 2024.
“The prompt payments, clear directions, and open discussions provided by Perodua allowed us to exceed our own expectations and support the highest production levels we’ve ever seen,” he noted.
P2SA members have embraced automation and Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance efficiency. An example cited was Ingress AOI Technologies Sdn Bhd’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System, which increased space efficiency by 71% while reducing human and equipment dependencies.
“Our members are actively improving their operations, with some making inroads into ASEAN markets and others engaging with Japanese automotive OEMs,” Musa added.
Dealer Excellence in Sales and Service
The Perodua Dealers’ Association, led by President Cik Rabitah Dato’ Shamshudin, highlighted the achievements and challenges of registering 358,102 Perodua vehicles in 2024.
“The coordination and logistics efforts by Perodua to achieve this were extraordinary,” Rabitah said.
She praised Perodua’s leadership, particularly the guidance of President and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, and noted the automaker’s consistent support in helping dealers improve their operations.
Investing in Seamless Customer Experiences
Perodua’s push for mono-operation—integrating sales, service, and spare parts—has proven beneficial for PDA members. “This approach has streamlined our processes and provided a seamless experience for customers,” Rabitah explained.
The automaker has also encouraged dealers to upgrade to 3S operations, delivering tangible benefits and improving overall service quality.
Looking to the future, Rabitah emphasized Perodua’s commitment to welcoming the next generation of dealers. “The brand has treated us fairly for over 30 years, and we’re preparing the younger generation to continue this legacy.”
A Shared Commitment to Excellence
Both P2SA and PDA reaffirmed their commitment to Perodua’s success as Malaysia’s leading automotive brand. While P2SA focuses on innovation and efficiency, PDA aims to elevate customer satisfaction by understanding and exceeding consumer expectations.
“Together, we will continue to deliver the Perodua experience, ensuring its legacy as the country’s most popular brand remains intact,” Rabitah concluded.
