Nissan made an impression at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2024 with the unveiling of its latest model, the New Nissan Serena. This premium seven-seater Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) promises to redefine family travel, offering a blend of space, versatility, and technology. Priced from 1,469,000 baht (RM189,578), the Serena has been designed to enrich every journey with its spacious cabin and innovative features, making it a compelling choice for Thai families.
The New Nissan Serena is a testament to the brand’s “Big. Easy. Fun.” philosophy, ensuring both functionality and enjoyment for all passengers. Since its inception in Japan in 1991, the Serena has been celebrated for its spaciousness, and the latest iteration builds on this legacy. It boasts the most generous cabin space in its segment, ensuring ample room for passengers across all three rows. Cleverly designed seating arrangements provide up to thirteen configurations, allowing users to adapt the interior for activities ranging from long road trips to beach outings. Additionally, passengers can enjoy features such as adjustable second- and third-row seats, 14 cup holders, six USB ports, and personal tables, all designed to enhance convenience and comfort.
Ease of use remains a focal point of the Serena’s design. Hands-free dual power sliding doors facilitate effortless entry and exit, while the innovative dual back door—a first in its class—allows convenient rear access even in tight parking spaces. These design elements are complemented by large windows and a panoramic windshield, creating an airy atmosphere that reduces motion sickness and elevates the overall driving experience.
The New Nissan Serena also excels in technology and safety. At the heart of the vehicle’s infotainment system is a 10.1-inch high-definition touchscreen, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This screen is integrated with Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitoring system, offering drivers a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of their surroundings for improved safety and ease of navigation. The Serena’s safety suite is comprehensive, featuring Nissan’s 360° Safety Shield technology. This includes advanced systems such as Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Additionally, passive safety measures include six SRS airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors, ensuring optimal protection for all passengers.
Powered by a 2.0-litre engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission, the Serena delivers 150PS and 200Nm of torque. The inclusion of S-Hybrid technology enhances responsiveness and fuel efficiency, making it a practical choice for families. In line with Nissan’s commitment to sustainability, the Serena lineup will later expand to include an e-POWER version, providing eco-conscious customers with a more sustainable option.
Toshihiro Fujiki, President of Nissan Motor Thailand and ASEAN, highlighted the significance of the launch, stating, “The New Nissan Serena will transform any journey into an enjoyable and memorable experience, allowing customers to create more precious moments with family and friends.” He also reaffirmed Thailand’s strategic importance in the ASEAN region and Nissan’s dedication to enhancing lives through exciting mobility solutions.
The New Nissan Serena is available in one variant, the Highway Star, and comes in two elegant colours, Diamond Black and White Solid. Deliveries are set to begin in January 2025, and bookings are now open. With this launch, Nissan continues its commitment to refreshing its product portfolio and meeting the growing demand for MPVs in Thailand. This new offering underscores the brand’s focus on innovation, safety, and customer satisfaction, cementing its reputation as a leader in the automotive market.
