Mini Unveils the New John Cooper Works Models: Power, Performance, and Iconic Go-Kart Feel

Mini has taken the wraps off its latest high-performance John Cooper Works (JCW) models, continuing the legacy of racing legend John Cooper with exhilarating driving experiences and cutting-edge design. Powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, the new Mini JCW models deliver 231hp and 380Nm of torque, promising an unmatched go-kart feel on the road.

The new Mini JCW hardtop can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds, while the convertible achieves this in 6.4 seconds. Both models boast impressive top speeds, reaching 250km/h in the hardtop and 245km/h in the convertible. Fuel efficiency ranges from 6.5 to 7.1 L/100km, with CO2 emissions as low as 147 g/km, making these cars as efficient as they are fast.

Driving enthusiasts will appreciate the dual-clutch automatic transmission, complete with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, allowing for quick and precise gear changes. Enhanced suspension settings ensure the legendary go-kart handling, while the Chilli Red braking system with the JCW logo ensures reliable stopping power even in demanding conditions.

Visually, the new Mini JCW models make a statement. The front grille, now larger and octagonal in shape, is finished in high-gloss black with the iconic John Cooper Works logo. Wide air vents and additional cooling inlets ensure optimal engine temperature control, while LED headlamps with distinctive daytime running lights give the car a fierce look.

For a more personalised touch, buyers can choose from eleven bold body colors, with options for Chili Red or Jetblack roof and mirror caps. The convertible model offers an exclusive Copper Grey finish and a black or Union Jack soft top, which retracts in just 18 seconds for open-air driving at speeds of up to 30km/h.

Inside, the design is both sporty and refined. The JCW sports seats, finished in black synthetic leather with red accents, provide the support needed for dynamic driving. The JCW steering wheel, featuring paddle shifters and a six-o-clock textile spoke, ensures complete control. The cabin is dominated by a new 240 mm OLED central display, which allows easy access to navigation, media, and climate controls.

In true racing spirit, Mini has included a Go-Kart mode, transforming the cockpit to display performance-related data like torque, power, and g-force for a full motorsport experience.

Mini has also packed the JCW models with cutting-edge technology. A suite of digital assistance systems, powered by 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround-view cameras, make driving easier and safer. The Driving Assistant Plus helps with lane keeping and steering at higher speeds, while the Parking Assistant Plus takes care of parking duties.

Meanwhile, the advanced Mini Navigation system provides 3D visualisation and Augmented View, ensuring drivers always know where they’re going, with real-time traffic updates and parking information.

Combining iconic Mini styling with thrilling performance, the new John Cooper Works models are set to deliver an exceptional driving experience that continues to embody the passion for motorsport.
