PRO-NET, a subsidiary of Proton, has announced the appointment of 36 Proton e.MAS dealerships, more than doubling the initial 17 dealerships announced in June 2024. This move highlights PRO-NET’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s EV market and expanding its customer service network.
The dealership expansion was complemented by a visit to the Geely Research Institute (GRI) in Hangzhou, China, which was attended by over 40 Malaysian dealer executives and principals. The three-day tour offered participants insights into Geely’s advanced technology and the operations behind selling and servicing premium EV models at Geely dealerships.
Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET, stated that since the Proton e.MAS brand launch in June, the development pace has been rapid. The addition of 19 new dealerships reflects the excitement surrounding the upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 model and the overwhelming enthusiasm from dealer principals who joined the Geely tour. He emphasised how Geely’s intelligent technology and research have prepared the dealerships for the arrival of Malaysia’s first EV.
The tour to the GRI centre introduced dealers to advanced intelligent technology embedded in the Proton e.MAS 7. Participants had hands-on experience with the technology by driving a Geely E5 and visiting Geely’s Vehicle Validation Centre and New Energy Validation Centre to observe pre-production testing and technology validation.
Dealers also visited various premium Geely dealerships, learning about customer service, sales strategies, and operational standards. Inspired by this experience, they aim to incorporate similar practices into their Proton e.MAS dealerships, transforming them into hubs of innovation and education for next-generation EV technology.
This expansion to 36 Proton e.MAS dealerships across Peninsular and East Malaysia underscores PRO-NET’s dedication to building an extensive support network for its customers and driving sustainable mobility in Malaysia.
Dealer principals expressed their admiration for Geely’s technological advancements and premium dealership standards. Abdul Hakim Bin Basri of Proton e.MAS Kota Bharu – JM Otomobil (EV) said that the experience solidified their confidence in the technology co-developed by Geely and Proton. Similarly, Datuk Andrew Quek Tze Kean, owner of Proton e.MAS Shah Alam – SG Car, left the tour inspired and eager to bring elements of the premium dealership experience back to Malaysia.
