The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is the Ultimate Performance Machine

Ford has officially revealed the highly anticipated 2025 Mustang GTD, marking the most advanced and powerful Mustang ever engineered. With a jaw-dropping 815hp and 900Nm of torque, the Mustang GTD is set to redefine performance in the world of street-legal sports cars. Its top speed of 325km/h makes it the fastest Mustang ever to hit the road, pushing the boundaries of what the iconic brand can achieve.

At the core of the Mustang GTD’s astonishing capabilities is its supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine, which boasts more horsepower per litre than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. According to Greg Goodall, Mustang GTD’s Chief Program Engineer, “We’ve been laser-focused since day one to make the Mustang GTD the first-ever supercar with world-class performance and the soul of a Mustang.”

Engineering Excellence and Track-Ready Performance

One of the key highlights of the Mustang GTD is its cutting-edge active aerodynamics, which includes a Drag Reduction System (DRS). This system adjusts the angle of the rear wing and activates flaps beneath the front of the car to optimize airflow for high-speed performance or downforce, depending on the driving conditions. This technology allows the Mustang GTD to deliver maximum stability and grip at top speeds.

Additionally, the GTD is built to excel on the track, with Ford engineers targeting an official sub-seven-minute lap time at the legendary Nürburgring circuit in Germany. To help achieve this goal, the car is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and a sophisticated inboard-rear suspension with semi-active dampers, ensuring precise handling and control in the most demanding corners.

Unmatched Powertrain Innovations

The Mustang GTD’s V8 engine benefits from Ford’s first-ever dry-sump oil system, designed to keep the engine lubricated during sustained high-speed cornering. This innovative system allows for a slightly elevated maximum engine speed of 7,650 rpm, up 100 rpm from previous iterations of the 5.2-litre V8.

To further enhance performance, Ford has equipped the GTD with revised intake and exhaust systems, a standard titanium exhaust, and a smaller supercharger pulley, all contributing to the engine’s impressive output. These enhancements ensure the Mustang GTD has the raw power necessary to achieve its top speed while maintaining exceptional track capability.

A New Era for Mustang

The 2025 Mustang GTD represents a new chapter in the Mustang legacy, blending American muscle with supercar-level technology. “We’ve combined the work of talented engineers and designers, as well as an extremely capable driver, with Mustang GTD technology, power, and aerodynamics,” added Goodall. “We can’t wait to deliver on our sub-seven-minute promise to GTD customers.”

With its blend of cutting-edge technology, aerodynamics, and relentless performance, the 2025 Mustang GTD is set to leave a lasting impression in the automotive world, taking the Mustang name to new heights.
