Dongfeng Unveils Compact BOX Electric Vehicle Set for Q4 2024 Malaysian Launch

Central Auto Distributors Bhd (CADB), a wholly-owned subsidiary company of PEKEMA, assigned the role of an exclusive importer and distributor of Dongfeng passenger cars in the Malaysian market, is gearing up for the official launch of its latest model, the BOX, in the fourth quarter of 2024. Built on the Quantum Architecture S3 platform, this compact electric vehicle (EV) combines modern design with practicality, aiming to cater to young urbanites and families who need versatile transportation.

With dimensions of 4020/1810/1570 mm, the BOX is compact yet offers an agile presence on the road. Its chic and fashionable exterior is highlighted by smooth curves and a round outline, giving it a fresh and contemporary appearance. The front fascia features through-type LED headlights, while a contrasting suspended roof enhances its dynamic look. Frameless doors and hidden sensor door handles, rare in this class, add a touch of sophistication.

The interior of the BOX is equally stylish and refined. Featuring a high-grade leather diamond pattern design, the cabin exudes a luxurious and soft feel, elevating its visual appeal. Additionally, 32-colour ambient lighting and frameless rearview mirrors contribute to the vehicle’s premium atmosphere.

Advanced technology and convenience features make the BOX a standout in its segment. It offers a one-button lie-flat mode for the main driver, a 12.8-inch floating central touch screen, wireless phone charging, and L2 intelligent driving assistance functions, enhancing comfort and safety on the road.

Despite its compact size, the BOX boasts a long wheelbase of 2663mm, which optimises the interior space. The smart layout allows for a 66% space utilisation rate, ensuring ample room for passengers and luggage, making it practical for daily travel or weekend getaways.

Powering the BOX is the Mach E ten-in-one electric drive assembly, known for its high efficiency and low energy consumption. With a maximum output of 70kW and peak torque of 160Nm, the BOX can reach a top speed of 140km/h. Charging is convenient with support for both fast and slow charging. Using a DC charger, the BOX can recharge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Additionally, the external discharge function allows users to power electrical appliances while camping or enjoying outdoor activities.

With its stylish design, compact size, and smart features, the Dongfeng BOX is poised to make a significant impact on the urban EV market when it officially launches later this year.
