The Minister, Armizan Mohd Ali, made the announcement and emphasised that letters of approval will be issued promptly, according to FMT. This will enable transport companies to quickly apply for fleet cards from the fuel companies of their choice.

The SKDS is applicable to a wide range of land transport vehicles. The 33 eligible types include:

  • School buses
  • Express buses
  • General cargo lorries

Transport companies with vehicles included in the eligible categories are encouraged to apply for the SKDS immediately. Key points include:

  • Immediate Approval: Approval letters are issued promptly to expedite the process.
  • Fleet Card Application: With the approval, companies can apply for fleet cards from their preferred fuel companies.

For companies that secure SKDS approval before June 30, there is a reimbursement plan in place:

  • Reimbursement Period: Companies can apply for reimbursements starting in July.
  • Proof of Purchase: Reimbursements will be processed using receipts as proof of purchase until the fleet cards are received.
