Alfa Romeo Unveils Pricing and Specs for First Fully Electric Model, the Junior

Alfa Romeo has announced the pricing and specifications for its first fully electric vehicle, the Junior. Combining sporty design, compact size, and Italian flair, the Junior will start at £33,895 (RM203,368) OTR for the base model, the Junior Elettrica.

Powertrain and Performance

The Junior is Alfa Romeo’s debut into the fully electric market, featuring two powertrain options. The base model comes with a 156hp motor, providing a range of up to 402km (WLTP). For those seeking a sportier experience, the Junior Veloce offers a 240hp motor with a range of up to 346 (WLTP). Both versions are equipped with Alfa Romeo’s signature sporting DNA, ensuring dynamic performance and excellent road holding. Charging is efficient, with a 10-80% charge achievable in under 30 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger.

Trim Levels and Features

The Junior is available in three trim levels: Junior Elettrica, Speciale, and Veloce.

  • Junior Elettrica: Priced from £33,895 (RM203,368), this model includes 18-inch diamond-cut aero alloy wheels, LED headlamps and taillamps, gloss black mirror covers, rain-sensing wipers, and rear parking sensors. The interior features black/blue cloth Icona seats, eight-color ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch configurable Cannocchiale instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch driver-oriented central screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Lane Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, e-Call, and Alfa Romeo Connected Services. Keyless go, heat pump, Mode 3 charging cable, and an 11kW on-board charger are standard.
  • Junior Speciale Elettrica: Starting at £35,695 (RM214,169), the Speciale builds on the Elettrica with additional sports styling, including a diamond black Scudetto, dark tinted rear windows, and 18-inch Petali alloy wheels. Inside, it features Spiga vinyl and fabric seats with a six-way electrically operated driver’s seat and massage function, leather steering wheel, sports pedals, and kick plates. Enhanced tech includes a 10.25-inch infotainment system with navigation, a 180-degree rear camera, Adaptive Cruise Control with lane centering and traffic jam assist, handsfree electric tailgate, and keyless entry with proximity access.
  • Junior Veloce: Priced from £42,295 (RM253,783), the Veloce model features a 240hp electric powertrain, Torsen differential, 25mm lower suspension, and sport brake callipers. It comes with 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a black roof, dark tinted rear windows, red painted brake callipers, and a sports styling kit with a diamond black Scudetto. The interior includes Corsa Sabelt seats in black and red leather and suede, a leather steering wheel, sports pedals, and kick plates.

Practicality and Options

The Junior is designed with practicality in mind, offering the largest boot capacity in its class at 400 litres. Customers can enhance their Junior with three option packs:

  • Technology Pack: Includes advanced safety and tech features like Level 2 autonomous driving, handsfree electric tailgate, LED Matrix lights, and connected navigation with a virtual assistant.
  • Premium Pack: Adds comfort features such as a vinyl-fabric blend interior, electrically operated driver’s seat with massage function, interior ambient lighting, and aluminium pedals and kick plates.
  • Sport Pack: Offers enhanced sportiness with Sabelt seats, Alcantara upholstery, and sporty exterior features.
