Chery Auto Malaysia has reached a significant milestone with the production of its 10,000th vehicle, a remarkable achievement accomplished within just eight months of starting operations in partnership with Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd. This rapid production underscores Chery Auto Malaysia’s commitment to growth and excellence in the local automotive industry.
The partnership between Chery Auto Malaysia and Inokom Corporation was formalised in May 2023, and the first batch of locally assembled Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 PRO vehicles was delivered by August of the same year. This swift rollout demonstrates the efficiency and capability of Inokom’s state-of-the-art 200-acre facility in Kulim, Kedah.
In addition to the existing models, the assembly of the soon-to-be-launched Tiggo 7 PRO has commenced at the plant this month. Chery Auto Malaysia is also preparing to introduce its all-electric vehicle, the Omoda E5, to the production line, signalling a strong commitment to expanding its product range and embracing the future of electric vehicles.
To keep pace with increasing demand and the positive market reception, Chery Auto Malaysia is enhancing its operations by adding a second assembly line. This expansion is designed to boost production capacity and improve efficiency, ensuring that the growing needs of Malaysian consumers are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality control.
This strategic move not only aims to fulfill local demand but also positions Chery Auto Malaysia for future growth, reinforcing its role as a key player in the Malaysian automotive market. The addition of a second assembly line will help sustain the momentum of Chery’s impressive production achievements and support its ambitious plans for the future.
