Bentley Kuala Lumpur bids farewell to the iconic W12 petrol powertrain with the delivery of its final Bentayga Speed, marking the last Bentayga model in Malaysia to include the W12 engine.
This move follows Bentley Motor’s global announcement to discontinue the W12 engine as part of its Beyond 100 strategy, focusing on the full electrification of all models to position Bentley as a leader in sustainable luxury mobility. Orders for the Bentayga Speed featuring the W12 powertrain ceased at the end of July 2023.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine, the Speed offers remarkable top speeds without compromising on luxury and comfort, accompanied by a range of customisations and exclusive styling.
Key Features:
- Maximum torque of 900Nm and 0 to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds.
- 635PS with a top speed of 306km/h.
- Bentley Dynamic Ride anti-roll system for enhanced stability and comfort.
- Torsen All-Wheel Drive system for optimal traction.
- Four driving modes: Sport, Comfort, Bentley, and Custom.
- Touring Specification for advanced driver assistance technologies.
The Bentayga Speed is instantly recognisable, featuring dark-tint headlights, unique front and rear bumpers, 22-inch wheel designs, and distinctive Speed exterior signatures.
Inside, it boasts a dramatic design theme that balances luxury and performance, with unique Speed colour splits and Alcantara accents, providing an unrivalled blend of luxury and sportiness.
The arrival of Malaysia’s final Bentayga Speed marks a pivotal time for Bentley as it accelerates towards a sustainable future through its Beyond100 strategy, which aims to electrify the entire model line by the start of the next decade. The discontinuation of the W12 engine signifies Bentley’s commitment to sustainable luxury mobility while maintaining a legacy of engineering excellence.
In the last year, Bentley introduced two new variants, the Azure and S range, catering to a variety of driving preferences and experiences for Bentley customers.
Production of the W12 engine will cease in April 2024, marking the end of a venerable legacy with over 100,000 handcrafted examples produced at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England. Bentley’s entire model line will then be available with the option of a hybrid powertrain.
