Porsche unveiled a spectacular creation at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in California during the Rennsport Reunion 7 event. Alongside the 911 GT3 R Rennsport, the automaker introduced a special and ultra-exclusive 718 Cayman GT4 RS in collaboration with TAG Heuer. This unique road car is a tribute to the iconic 550 Coupe that competed in the 1953 Carrera Panamericana.
Named the “Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS TAG Heuer x Porsche – Legends of Panamericana,” only two of these track-focused masterpieces will ever be crafted. The design pays homage to the legendary race cars with “152” and “154” racing numbers on the doors and roofs, reminiscent of the historic race cars. The cars are painted in the striking Le Mans Silver Metallic, accented with body-coloured highlights.
Special attention to detail is evident, featuring TAG Heuer branding on the rear wing’s endplates, hood, wheel hub covers, and central lock rims. The Pegasus motif, a tribute to the 550 Spyder, further adds a historical touch to the design. Inside the cabin, the Mexican flag-inspired green, white, and red cross-stitching complements the aesthetic. The special edition also boasts “GT4 RS Panamericana Special” lettering on the door sills and a unique racing driver cap emblem on the headrests.
The “154” racing number variant includes a special TAG Heuer stopwatch integrated into the center console, adding an exclusive touch. Remarkably, the “152” car will be auctioned, with proceeds donated to a charitable cause. This unveiling comes after the 911 S Cabriolet Panamericana Special, showcasing Porsche’s continued dedication to commemorating its historic racing achievements in a contemporary context.
