2025 Audi Q6 e-tron Interior Has A Front Passenger Display

Audi has just unveiled the interior of its highly-anticipated 2025 Q6 e-tron, following a sneak peek at the model’s exterior design back in July during a thrilling prototype first drive event. This significant milestone marks a crucial moment in Audi’s electric vehicle (EV) journey, and there are compelling reasons why the Q6 e-tron has been generating so much buzz.

First and foremost, the Q6 e-tron occupies a pivotal position in Audi’s EV lineup. It falls within the size category similar to the popular Q5, neatly positioned between the Q4 e-tron and the Q8 e-tron. This strategic placement is an auspicious sign for the model’s potential success, given the Q5’s popularity among consumers.

However, what truly sets the Q6 e-tron apart is its groundbreaking technology underpinnings. This EV marks Audi’s maiden voyage into the realm of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a platform co-developed in collaboration with Porsche. The PPE platform is renowned for its ability to provide a solid foundation for a range of electric vehicles, promising not only thrilling performance but also an impressive electric range. Furthermore, the Q6 e-tron boasts Audi’s new E3 electronics architecture, which is set to revolutionise the in-car technology experience.

Now, as we get our first glimpse of the Q6 e-tron’s interior and delve into the onboard technology, it becomes abundantly clear that the cabin is a pivotal element that will catapult this model to prominence within Audi’s EV portfolio.

According to Audi, the inside has undergone a thorough reimagining with this focus in order to be painstakingly tailored to the user’s tastes. The PPE and E3 architectures served as the basis for redesigning the interior’s layout and range of features, effortlessly integrating technology, aesthetics, and sustainability within the Audi Q6 e-tron.

Starting with the interior’s design, the space exhibits a three-dimensional, high-contrast arrangement that places objects purposefully in the foreground or background to create a 3D spatial structure that smoothly combines beauty and usability.

The cabin’s central focus is the “digital stage,” a term coined by Audi, which comprises the prominent Audi MMI panoramic display and the MMI front passenger display. The former boasts an elegantly curved design and incorporates cutting-edge OLED technology, encompassing the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and the expansive 14.5-inch MMI touch display.

For the front passenger, a dedicated 10.9-inch display seamlessly integrates into the dashboard’s overall design. Thanks to an active privacy mode equipped with shutter technology, the passenger can enjoy uninterrupted movie viewing without causing distractions for the driver. Moreover, the passenger can assist the driver, particularly with navigation tasks.

Audi also provides an optional augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD) for the Q6 e-tron. This HUD projects a sizable, angled image onto the windshield for the driver, presenting crucial information such as speed, traffic signs, and icons related to assistance and navigation.

The Audi Q6 e-tron also has an invention known as the Interaction light (IAL), which adds to the list of technical wonders. The goal of this element, which smoothly curves around the interior and cockpit, is to enhance safety by visually expressing dynamic turn signals, communicating vehicle status, and showing charging status.

The new E3 electronics platform also enables the Q6 e-tron to give a completely networked digital interior with intelligently connected functionalities. Audi’s adaptive voice assistant, which is now for the first time represented by an avatar in the dashboard and the augmented reality head-up display, allows customers to conveniently control a variety of car operations.

Initiated with the command “Hey Audi,” the digital assistant consistently adapts to the user’s interactions, striving to provide optimal assistance. This includes offering proactive recommendations, orchestrating intelligent routines, and presenting insightful lists.

Simultaneously, the electric SUV unveils a fresh infotainment system grounded in Android Automotive, meticulously crafted in collaboration with Volkswagen Group’s software enterprise, Cariad.

The practicality of the Q6 e-tron is enhanced by the PPE platform, which allows this electric SUV to provide a roomy interior complete with numerous storage compartments and trays.

As an illustration, the centre console is equipped with two cupholders, a designated cell phone charging tray, and two smartphone charging ports. Additionally, the absence of a central tunnel creates more legroom, and the rear centre seat is praised for its high level of comfort.

The trunk offers a capacious 527 litres of storage space, and when the rear seats are folded down, this expands to a generous 1529 litres. Speaking of the rear seats, they can be individually folded in a versatile 40:20:40 split configuration. The frunk provides an additional 65 litres of storage capacity, sufficient for housing a mobile charging cable and smaller travel bags.

Audi maintains its reputation for crafting high-quality interiors with the Q6 e-tron being no exception. The automaker places a strong emphasis on functionality and sustainability in the selection of materials. Notably, recycled materials such as Dinamica microfiber, Elastic Melange fabric, and Econyl are integrated into the interior design.

Moreover, depending on the chosen equipment package, the cabin can feature classic luxury materials like premium Nappa leather with intricate diamond stitching, sweetgum and birch wood accents, and brushed aluminum detailing.

Audi has scheduled the full unveiling of the Q6 e-tron for sometime in 2024, with plans to make it available for sale later in the same year as a 2025 model.
