Novitec needs no introduction, but for the uninitiated, the company specialises in making unique changes for well-known Italian automakers including Ferrari, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Lamborghini. Novitec’s recent take was with a Ferrari 812 Competizione. Not so much on the visual side, but more performance-focused upgrades were done.
In May 2021, Ferrari unveiled the 812 Competizione, which coincidentally holds the distinction of being Ferrari’s most performance-focused grand turismo to date. This model follows in the footsteps of the F12TDF.
Dual-spoke forged wheels with 275/30 R21 up front and 335/25 R22 down back are among the special cosmetic upgrades available. To put things in perspective, the front and rear original factory tyres are 275/35 R20 and 315/355 R20, respectively. The original tyre-wheel combination should be used because Ferrari originally built the 812 Competizione to fit the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres with these specified measurements.
Alongside the power upgrade, the altered 812 Competizione receives 22-inch forged wheels from Vossen.
Additional Novitec improvements include titanium lug bolts, a set of springs, a hydraulic front axle lift system, and aluminium spacers designed to extend the track by up to 40mm per axle.
Now to get to the performance enhancements. Stainless steel, Inconel, or Inconel that has had its surface coated in gold is available from Novitec as a performance-oriented exhaust system. A pair of sport catalytic converters is the perfect complement to this exhaust system.
The 6.5-litre V12 engine in the 812 Competizione is a typical one without forced induction and produces 830hp and 691Nm of torque. At 9,250rpm, the engine reaches its peak power, and its rev ceiling rises to 9,500rpm. The coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.85 seconds and reach 200km/h in 7.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 340km/h. Novitec boosts the output to 854hp and 711Nm of torque.
The car has a 25mm reduction in ground clearance due to modified springs. To overcome difficulties, a sophisticated front lift system raises the front end by 40mm.
For those interested, there’s a wide selection of over 70 additional colours and various surface finishes to pick from, ranging from brushed to mirror-polished options. Novitec also provides complete personalisation for the interior of a Ferrari 812 Competizione. The options for colours and designs within the crafted leather, Alcantara, and carbon interiors are almost limitless.
Novitec is yet to disclose the pricing of this monster. However, the retail price for an 812 Competizione is around $598,513 (RM2.7 million), so we can expect the price of the Novitec creation to be more eye-watering.
