BMW Malaysia seems to be on a roll. Just recently, the company launched the i4 eDrive35, the M2 Coupé, the iX M60 and now, BMW Malaysia has introduced an X6 facelift that only comes in a xDrive40i M Sport variant.
A few product improvements to the grille, headlights, and taillights as well as equipment upgrades are included in the Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) which is now in its third generation.
The front features new three-dimensional BMW kidney grille slats with LED lighting and the new adaptive LED headlights are slimmer. It is accompanied by daytime running lights with a stylised X design that emphasises the width of the SAC. The front apron also comes with a new triangular air intake with vertically arranged air curtains.
A low coupé roofline and a long wheelbase define the new X6’s aerodynamic profile. Along with this, there are blue M Sport brakes and 22-inch M light alloy wheels with staggered tyres.
Inside, the BMW curved display is the focal point of a fully redesigned cockpit. Standard features include a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch high-resolution touchscreen control display.
The completely new centre console, which has a cleaner structure and more touch-sensitive function controls, is another standout feature. A rocker switch that is conveniently positioned in the control panel in the central console next to the BMW Controller is now used to change gears.
The M leather steering wheel and BMW Individual Merino leather interior are additional features. Front passengers are given comfort seats that are electrically adjustable and have active seat ventilation. Roller sun shades are provided for the rear side windows.
There is also a large panoramic glass roof and the standard inclusion of a light bar and these elements are complemented by the glass application of “Crafted Clarity”.
The BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport features a new mild-hybrid technology. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 48V mild-hybrid engine delivers a combined output of 381hp and 540Nm of torque to all four wheels.
The century sprint is completed in just 5.4 seconds, and it has a peak speed of 250km/h. It has adaptive M suspension, giving drivers increased driving dynamics potential with the option of switching between comfort and sport driving modes. Tuned adaptive dampers that are regulated individually and efficiently through each mode further complement the suspension.
BMW Live Cockpit Plus, which runs on the most recent BMW Operating System 8, is a standard feature of the new X6. Additionally included in the system is the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which offers the driver help for a variety of tasks.
For onboard entertainment, it comes equipped with the Harman Kardon Surround sound system. Meanwhile, Comfort Access with the new “BMW Digital Key” allows for greater convenience when locking and unlocking the vehicle via compatible smartphones.
As standard equipment, the X6 is equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional. The Driving Assistant Professional is a Level 2 Partial Driving Automation-capable support system that uses cameras and radar. The Parking Assistant Professional is a camera- and ultrasound-based driver assistance system with a full 360-degree camera and Remote Control Parking function based on a stored manoeuvre, using a smartphone inside or outside the vehicle. This system makes it possible to park in tight spots with little room to get in and out of the car.
It is available in a range of exterior colour offerings, including the M Carbon Black, Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Manhattan, M Brooklyn Grey, Skyscraper Grey, as well as Aventurine Red. Upholstery options available for the New BMW X6 include the BMW Individual Extended Leather Trim ‘Merino’ in Black or Tartufo.
The retail pricing for the new BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport with 5-Year extended warranty and service package, as well as sales and service tax, (on the road, without insurance), is RM754,800.
The X6 may be purchased using the Straight Line Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia with monthly payments beginning at RM 8,739.00 (based on projections of an 80% loan on a 7-year tenure).
