Alfa Romeo Teases Vintage Steering Wheel For New Supercar

A final thoroughbred supercar will be delivered, according to Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato, before the renowned Italian carmaker switches to an all-electric production line. The forthcoming Alfa Romeo supercar said to be called “33” or “6C,” will make its world premiere on August 30. But for now we can only imagine what the interior might look like, given the teased steering wheel.

The company released a photo of the steering wheel on its instagram account. And as is customary with these teaser pictures, not much is shown, and what is shown is intentionally difficult to make out.

It’s not difficult to see that the forthcoming Alfa supercar will have a minimalist-style steering wheel with a retro-inspired design, giving that old school Italian supercar feel.

The image shows an Alfa Romeo logo on a brown leather inlay at the centre of the wheel. But what draws our attention are the spokes of the wheel. Modern automobiles have spokes covered in unnecessary buttons and switches for all of the modern technology and controls. However, this Alfa just reveals beautiful metal spokes with carved circles.

Only 33 of these cars may be built, and all of them have already been purchased by wealthy customers who want to possess a piece of automotive history.

According to estimates, the Alfa Romeo 33 can reach a high speed of 333 km/h, making it somewhat quicker than its Maserati sibling, which is capable of 325 km/h. No information has been released on the 0 to 100 km/h sprint, although the MC20 completes the task in under 2.9 seconds.

It is unknown if it will utilise the twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 from the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio versions or the twin-turbo 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 from Maserati.

Whatever the case may be, with a beautiful steering wheel like that, we think that it will only make sense to produce it as a full internal combustion engine rather than a hybrid.
