On July 7, several roads in Penang will be closed from 6am to 12am in order to accommodate the Meng Eng Soo Open House and the George Town Heritage Celebrations 2023.
For the George Town Heritage Celebrations, the roads to be closed are Lebuh Armenian, Lorong Soo Hong, Lebuh Cannon, Lebuh Aceh, and Lorong Lumut; and Jalan Pintal Tali for the Meng Eng Soo Open Day.
Visitors and attendees of cultural celebrations are urged to plan their routes in advance and walk to the event locations after parking their cars at neighbouring parking lots.
Parking spaces will be accessible at the Jalan Maxwell open space parking lot operated by the Penang Development Corporation, the Prangin Mall, First Avenue, Komtar, as well as the multi-level parking garages on Beach Street and Hutton Lane.
The George Town World Heritage Incorporated office (Lebuh Carnarvon) at the intersection of Chulia Street and Jalan Pintal Tali also serves as drop-off locations for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Travellers arriving by bus are recommended to get off at the bus stops on Lebuh Carnarvon and Kampung Kolam.
