The improved version of Ford’s factory Bronco Raptor was approved by Hennessey’s engineering team following cold weather testing in the snowy mountains of Colorado, allowing production and delivery to start at the company’s headquarters in Texas.
The hypercar manufacturer calls it the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 Bronco Raptor. Yes, that is a mouth full.
According to Hennessey, during the testing, Mother Nature’s obstacles were no match for the modified 4×4, which was equipped with Hennessey’s distinctive 20-inch alloy wheels and 37-inch off-road tires. Can it handle our Malaysian floods?
Although the exoskeleton and interior are a Ford Bronco Raptor, Hennessey has put their magic touch on its performance. The VelociRaptor puts out 82 hp more than the Ford, giving it 500 hp and 746 Nm of torque.
Hennessey, the company that ‘makes fast cars faster’, included a VelociRaptor 500 package that features:
- enhanced air induction
- a high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve
- upgraded engine-management system to boost the performance of its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine
- custom VelociRaptor bumpers
- LED off-road lights
- unique Hennessey 10-spoke alloy wheels
- VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging
- embroidered head restraints
- all-weather floor mats
- unique build number plaque
“The VelociRaptor 500 Bronco is one of our most agile and capable off-road offerings — it’s nearly unstoppable off the pavement. Our 500 horsepower upgrade pairs perfectly with Ford’s rugged Bronco Raptor 4×4 as we improve upon the factory’s high-performance offering and enhance it with more power and a more aggressive appearance,” said John Hennessey, company founder, and CEO.
It is priced from $28,950 (RM 128k) and Hennessey confidently backs every Bronco build with its comprehensive 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.
