In conjunction with the Rainforest Challenge 2019 which is currently happening in the state of Kelantan, Petron Malaysia decided to organise the Petron TriAction Advantage Performance Run Media Road Trip for media members to experience one of the world’s top 10 toughest motor races.
Powered by Petron Malaysia (RFC’s official diesel sponsor and engine oil partner) and its impressive Petron Turbo Diesel Euro 5, 4×4 trucks of all nature, makes, and sizes from around the globe are now gathered at Bukit Panau, Kelantan to showcase what their super modified trucks and driving skills are made off.
A total of 450 participants from 20 different countries are taking part in the 4×4 competition where the flag-off ceremony was held yesterday at the Hotel Grand Riverview Kota Bharu. It was a sight to behold as over 50 different powerful-looking trucks rolled off in a massive convoy to the qualifying sessions and ‘Special Stages’ area near Bukit Panau.
Bear in mind that it has been raining quite heavily in the state and to these folks, battling the off-road terrains with nature against them is what they love about the super-tough Rainforest Challenge (RFC). Judging by the hundreds of people who were there to witness the whole show despite the heavy rain said it all. We’re talking hill climbs, super muddy terrains, waist-deep waters, and more.
According to Choong Kum Choy, Head of Retail and Commercial Business Petron Malaysia, “In this unique Performance Run Media Road Trip event, we are thrilled to showcase the performance of TriAction Advantage in Petron Turbo Diesel Euro 5 during the tough 4×4 off-roading competition. To witness what the Rainforest Challenge has become in the last four years since Petron Malaysia fuelled its first competition back in 2016 showcases not only the power of their Petron Turbo Diesel Euro 5 but also the amount of passion that has grown for the sport both locally and internationally.
Contestants from China, Mongolia, Russia, Colombia, and more driving their impressive machines through extremely difficult terrains here in Malaysia definitely says a lot about RFC’s magnitude in the world of off-road motorsports.
Luis J.A. Wee, the founder and creator of RFC, stated “The focus on full racing aspects this year will be tough as teams will try to overcome 50 Special Stages (SS). Only the best combination of man and machine, plus the right fuel and engine oil will propel the teams for a podium finish.”
RFC 2019 will be going through Kota Bharu, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai, and ends in Gua Musang for a massive two-day carnival on 8-9 December 2019.
