MINI Malaysia took to the stage today to unveil their latest 2020 MINI Clubman for the local market. Major updates on the new MINI Clubman can be seen inside and out that offers an elevated MINI experience for fellow fans and enthusiasts of this compact premium automotive brand.
According to Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, “Following our 2016 introduction of the MINI Clubman in Malaysia, the New MINI Clubman today is ready to champion its predecessor with new innovations and successes of its own. Featuring the iconic six doors, a new transmission system and a range of high-level digital advancements, we are thrilled to present a segment-leading vehicle packed with the familiar driving thrill that is characteristic of our MINI vehicles. The New MINI Clubman will be a symbol for outstanding driving fun in Malaysia.”
The biggest new exterior feature has to be its very sexy Indian Summer Red colour option. Paired with elegant interior accentuations and sophisticated yet high-tech connectivity, the new MINI Clubman is safer and more convenient than ever before with the integration of 4G SIM technology.
Upfront, you’ll notice a redesigned radiator grille that’s now sportier and more distinctive, a set of new LED headlights and fog lights with Piano Black outlines that completes the new front-end façade. Other updates like the new air inlet structure also offer a much bolder Clubman that hopes to draw in more crowds to the premium brand.
A set of 18-inch light-alloy wheels finished in the MINI Yours British Spoke two-tone design further elevates its visual appearance. Together with rear laterally opening wings, it’s hard to find anything close to this (especially for its unique six-door feature that no other rivals are offering in the local market).
The new 2020 MINI Clubman comes in the Cooper S variant which is fitted with a 2.0-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine that produces 192 hp and 280Nm of torque. This translates to a 0-100km/h time of only 7.2 seconds. Top speed? 228km/h. This power unit is paired with MINI’s new seven-speed Dual Clutch Sports automatic transmission.
Step inside the cabin and you are welcomed with the MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Lounge Carbon Black seats (with the iconic Union Jack motif) and sporty steering wheel wrapped in the same premium leather material. The addition of Frozen Blue lighting also creates a very premium ambience for anyone who’s lucky enough to sit in one of these babies.
