After months of anticipation and teasing, Volvo Car Malaysia has finally unveiled the latest 2020 Volvo S60 sedan for the Malaysian market in the form of the powerful 2020 Volvo S60 T8 R Design. The latest third-generation S60 four-door oferring marks the new wave of Volvo offerings here in Malaysia with its Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), Volvo’s advanced modular product platform.
Being the face of Volvo’s confident design language, the new S60 also features the classic Volvo styling cues many enthusiasts have come to love and appreciate. This includes the very iconic “Thor’s Hammer” front LED headlights, new front grille, and that awe-inspiring Volvo Iron Mark plus the very sporty R Design package.

Perhaps the most profound feature of the new Volvo S60 is what lies under the hood. Powered with a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine, the new S60 T8 R Design produces a massive 407hp and 640Nm of torque. We’re guessing that it’ll be one hell of drive up and down Genting with this beautiful beast.
With Volvo being one of the leaders in vehicle safety technology, it comes to as no surprise when they announced that their new S60 is packed to brim with safety features. The SPA platform alone uses boron steel which makes the strongest Volvo car to date which features several safety systems to offer protection inside and out.
Equipped with Volvo’s City Safety Technology, the new S60 features specs like automatic braking functionality and collision avoidance systems that is able to detect pedestrians, cyclists and even large animals. It also features the Pilot Assist driver assistance system that can operate with speeds up to 130km/h.
