2019 Subaru Forester officially in Malaysia – From RM139,788

The all-new 2019 Subaru Forester has arrived here in Malaysia and it comes with some very interesting upgrades that makes it more dynamic and comfortable than ever before. The fifth generation Forester was launched earlier today at the revamped Subaru showroom in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The 2019 Subaru Forester highlights four key pillars from Subaru’s Core Technologies which are Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Boxer Engine, Subaru Global Platform, and the EyeSight driver-assist technology. A host of improvements from the previous gen makes the 2019 Forester a step ahead of its competition when it comes to driving dynamics as well as safety.

According to Mr Glenn Tan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Tan Chong International Limited, “The all-new Forester is bigger and better, both inside and out. This is the first Forester that incorporates all Subaru’s four core technologies, which means a safer, more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience for drivers and passengers. With EyeSight, the journey is safer and less stressful.”

One of the biggest highlights for the all-new Forester is the award-winning safety features embedded within the car. Its signature Eyesight advanced driver-assist technology which helps to reduce the strain of driving includes:

Automatic pre-collision braking
Pre-collision throttle management
Adaptive cruise control
Lead vehicle start alert
Lane departure & lane sway warning

Subaru also introduced a brand-new chassis for the 2019 Forester. Built on the Subaru Global Platform, the driving experience has been further enhanced by delivering less hakes, road noise, and 50% improvements in handling. This is a good combination to have with its 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine which produces 155hp at 6,000rpm and 196Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

All the power is sent to its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive unit via a CVT transmission with seven-speed manual mode which offers enhanced acceleration and fuel efficiency. There’s also the X-MODE function which helps drivers to navigate through rougher terrains whenever needed.

1,775-litre boot space (252 litres more than the previous gen)

With the latest-generation Forester riding on Subaru’s latest innovative platform, the interior space has been further enhanced since the car is now 30mm longer. This means more legroom for passengers to sit comfortably while having the ability to carry more cargo than ever before.
