The first ever 2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has entered its final testing phase and the multi-coloured camouflage used by BMW for the test cars is certainly an eye-catcher (quite the opposite effect when something is wrapped in camo).
In fact, BMW is actually promoting the upcoming four-door coupe by driving around Munich with a large QR code posted on the front doors where curious individuals can scan and be directed to www.BMW.com/2-series-gran-coupé. That’s one unique marketing campaign, guys.
It is said that the first ever BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will make its official public debut in November 2019 at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the site directed to using the QR code will essentially be updated with the latest bulletins and information regarding the new concept car from BMW.
There are many key features to the new Gran Coupe which BMW will possibly launch sometime next year which are:
- ARB (near-actuator wheel slip limitation)
- DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system
- BMW Performance Control (yaw moment distribution)
- BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive (front wheel drive will also be available)
All of BMW’s latest tech for the upcoming Gran Coupe will be paired with their most powerful four-cylinder engine which is said to produce a whopping 306hp. This bad boy also comes with the newly developed mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, which gives the car an even sportier edge by creating a locking effect between the front wheels.
All in all, what BMW is determined to accomplish is creating a car that is sporty in the premium market paired with enhanced levels of cutting-edge technology, comfort, and spaciousness. They say that this will be the ultimate sedan for those looking for nothing but the best. For now, enjoy all the ‘spy shot’ photos (courtesy of BMW, ironically).
