UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (Toyota Malaysia) has announce that their very successful TGR Festival will be entering its third season this year and fireworks will go up this coming September. Four rounds consisting of eight Toyota Vios Challenge One-Make races are in schedule as the highlight of the festival.
These races will be conducted in specially constructed street circuits across the country (Penang, Terengganu and Johor) and like last year, one round will be held at the Sepang International Circuit. Three classes will run throughout the season which consists of the usual Promotional Class, Sporting and Super Sporting dedicated for professional and amateur drivers alike.
Off-track, the TGR Festival will also consists the popular Gazoo Racing Velocity E-Sports series where more than 400 participants took parts in virtual wheel-to-wheel racing when it was firstly introduced last season. Other highlights of the TGR Festival includes the Gazoo Racing Outlet which will showcase some very special models including the Gazoo Racing Supra.

The TGR Festival was never about just selling more cars but celebrating the success of Toyota and Gazoo Racing in global motorsports, from the Dakar Rally and World Rally Championship to the most recent victory in 24 Hours of Le Mans and translating these achievements to benefit the masses domestically.”

For this year’s Promotional Class, celebrities like Shukri Yahaya, Shawn Lee, Nabil Ahmad, Khai Bahr, Nabila Razali, Wany Hasrita, Janna Nick and last year’s champion, Diana Danielle. Newcomers to the battle this season are Ain Edruce and Syafiq Kyle. Mr Takeyama will also be joining the racing action again this season, and he’s now a ‘veteran’ as he took part in the first two seasons.
TGR Festival Season 3 hopes to attract more than 80,000 race fans and over a million online viewers through the races and other core sponsors like Toyo Tyres, Denso, TRD Asia, Moty’s, Enkei, M7 Energy Drink, and Toyota Capital Malaysia.
