Honda Malaysia sold 44,200 cars in first half of 2019

Honda Malaysia announced earlier today that they have successfully sold and registered a total of 44,200 cars for the first half of 2019. From January until June this year, it was the month of May which collected the highest number of sales at 10,500 units.

With that being said, Honda Malaysia retains its position as the leading manufacturer in the Non-National segment and second overall in the Total Industry Volume (TIV) with 15.3% contribution.

According to Mr Toichi Ishiyama, Managing Director and CEO of Honda Malaysia, “I want to take this opportunity to thank all Malaysians for their continuous support and trust in the Honda brand. The first half of 2019 has been challenging but encouraging for us. The Civic reached a milestone of 130,000th units sold while the Jazz delivered the 100,000th unit to its owner.”

“It is truly inspiring for us to see how these two models have become a favourite among Malaysians and we are hoping to achieve more milestones this year. Honda will continue to offer products which are of good quality and advanced technologies as we strive to deliver the best for Malaysians and share the joy of owning a Honda to all our customers.”

The best-selling model from Honda Malaysia is the City with 34% contribution to the overall sales figure. The HR-V which was launched earlier this year sits in second place with 20% contribution and closely followed by the CR-V with 14% of overall sales.

All three models plus the Jazz, Civic, and BR-V continue to lead in their respective segments, and they could not have done so without the support of the public and of course, their impressive model line-up currently available here in good old Malaysia.

Commenting on this achievement, Honda Malaysia’s newly appointed President and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Sarly Adle Sarkum said, “It has been a very exciting few weeks for me since I took office. I am impressed with the strong commitment and dedication of the team to bring Honda to greater heights in Malaysia. This has given me the confidence that we are able to take on the challenge to push our sales even further. We would like to thank all our customers for supporting our brand. Rest assured, we are committed to provide the Joy of Buying and the best offerings to our customers for greater customer satisfaction.”

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Honda Malaysia took the opportunity to launch the ‘Tech Frontier Rewards’ campaign which focuses on rewarding Honda customers and getting them acquainted with Honda’s Next Generation Advanced Technology namely Honda SENSING, Turbo and Sport Hybrid i-DCD.

For every new model purchased, customers can enjoy added rewards from Honda Bonus, Tech Month Bonus, to exclusive gifts worth up to RM5,000.  This campaign will last until the end of September 2019 and is applicable for all models, except the Civic Type R.
