Those who are looking for one of Malaysia’s best value for money MPV can add the 2019 Proton Exora into their list. Updated for 2019, the Exora offers great space, improved overall comfort, great power delivery, and enhanced intelligence thrown into the mix. In terms of looks, the 2019 Proton Exora retains the true original essence of the previous generation but not without a few cosmetic updates for a better exterior. We’re talking new LED daytime-running lights, 16-inch two-toned alloy wheels, black roof panel, rear fog lamp, side skirt, rear finish, and shark fin antenna.
Step inside the cabin and there you’ll find the biggest updates for the 2019 Proton Exora. New interior upholstery provides a more luxurious and comfortable feel no matter where you sit. The driver is presented with a new meter combination that’s minimalistic and sufficient for any drive.
A touch of more premium-ness can be seen with the addition of the borderless rear-view mirror which not only looks great but offers a wider point of view for the driver. There’s also the Proton signature intelligent infotainment system with first-in-class features for their latest updated MPV.
There’s the voice command prompted by saying “Hi Proton” which in turn makes the 2019 Exora as the first ‘talking MPV’ here in Malaysia. Other features include mobile internet connectivity, online music streaming, navigation, and weather updates all accessible via its 7-inch centre full-colour touchscreen.
The same 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine still kicks up a respectful 138hp at 5,000rpm and 205Nm of maximum torque from as low as 2,000rpm. This translates to the same power delivery as a bigger 2.0-litre non-aspirated engine but with better efficiency. This is paired with comfort driving thanks to the Proton Ride & Handling performance essence.

Two models will be on offer which are the Exora 1.6T Executive priced at RM59,800 and Exora 1.6T Premium at RM66,800 (OTR prices without insurance). Four different standard Extra Value packages are also on offer for the updated 2019 Exora.
These include three-years free labour services package, internet data package with free internet package, low interest rate package (2.76%), and insurance package. On top of the standard Extra Value packages, Proton is also offering special Value-Added packages. Customers who buy the 2019 Exora this year will be given a five-year or 11 times free labour service package.
The first 1,000 buyers will also be given free road tax for two years for private buyers and free road tax for one year for corporate customers. Combined with the price reduction and the value of the new features introduced, all additional benefits for the 2019 Exora adds up to between RM4,233 to RM5,652.
