Attention, all of you Toyota Supra fans out there because this one is for you. Gazoo Racing Company President Shigeki Tomoyama has officially announced that the A70 and A80 Toyota Supra parts (third and fourth generation) will go back into production. This announcement was made very recently during the ‘Supra is Back to Japan Fes’.
Shigeki Tomoyama’s speech was long and full of love for the Toyota Supra. After welcoming the latest 2020 Toyota GR Supra (A90) into the Japanese market, Toyota is not just looking into welcoming their latest baby into the family but also making sure that the previous gen Supras will also be taken care of in the best manner possible.
In other words, Toyota Gazoo Racing will be launching the GR Heritage Parts Project where it will start manufacturing parts for the A70 and A80 Supra models in the beginning. According to President himself, “We can not answer specific part names this time, but we will make every effort to meet the expectations of the owner.”
Although the timeline has not been set in stone just yet, the prospect of being able to buy genuine 2JZ engine parts or even the entire engine built brand new in 2019 is certainly worth drooling and dreaming over in the coming months. Better start saving, folks. The Supra is indeed back with a bang, 2JZ bang to be exact!
