Honda Malaysia has just announced that there will be a new colour offering for three of their CKD models which are the Honda City, Jazz, and CR-V. The new promising colour which hopes to attract more Malaysians to the brand is called Passion Red Pearl.
The Passion Red Pearl colour option will replace the Carnival Red for Jazz, the Dark Ruby Red for City; and the Obsidian Blue Pearl for the CR-V. This move was done as the colour of choice was proven to be highly preferred by Malaysians. 30% of the Honda HR-V sold so far are of that colour choice.
According to Mr. Toichi Ishiyama, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, “With the new colour introduction, the Jazz will exude a young personality feel while the City with a vibrant outlook and the CR-V appears more stylish. We believe all three popular models will look well-suited with vibrant colour for the versatile lifestyles of their owners.”
“In terms of sales performance, Jazz, City and CR-V have contributed 62% of total sales for Honda Malaysia between January and April 2019. City recorded the highest contribution with 34% of the overall sales of Honda Malaysia while the versatile and segment-leading Jazz recorded at 12% sales contribution.”
“Meanwhile, sales of the CR-V recorded at 15% of Honda Malaysia’s total sales. Honda Malaysia sold over 28,000 units between January and April 2019, recording 15% market share. This resulted as of April 2019, Honda Malaysia maintains the No.1 car brand position in the Non-National segment and No.2 position in overall Total Industry Volume (TIV)”.
