Many are still talking over the beautiful Porsche 917 Concept which was just introduced a few weeks back. Well, the German premium vehicle manufacturer revealed more jaw-dropping photos of the concept and it is our sworn duty to share it with the rest of you motorheads.
The Porsche 917 Concept might look modern, wild, edgy, and all the other cool adjectives known to man but surprisingly, the concept was actually birthed way back in 2014. It’s just that it was never released for the public eye. Until now, of course.
Set to become Porsche’s next hypercar, the Porsche 917 Concept promises a lot of things and has huge shoes to filled after the extremely amazing Porsche 918 Spyder. Judging by the looks offered from a variety of new angles, we think it can indeed pull that off.
According to Porsche’s Chief Designer, Michael Mauer, “If you launch a new hypercar, then you can go extremely modern in your thinking or maybe just go back to our sports car roots and take inspiration from some of the many icons in our history. When you look at the 917 Concept then, personally, I love it. You look at it, and you immediately make the connections.”
We for now can only confirm that there will be a new successor to the 918 and Porsche is already in progress on developing it as we speak. There’s no telling what sort of powertrain they’ll use but one thing is for sure, Porsche has the formula to do so in outstanding fashion.
