The legendary Ford Mustang celebrates its 55th year anniversary this week and what a way to turn the party up by claiming the title of the world’s best-selling sports coupe for the year 2018. This is their fourth year in a row of claiming this remarkable feat with a total of 113,066 cars sold worldwide last year.
It comes to as no surprises that the in the American market alone, a total of 75,842 Mustangs were sold last year. The sixth-generation Mustang which was introduced globally back in 2015 has sold more than 500,000 units worldwide and that passionate trend caught on the Malaysian market.
The Ford Mustang is so popular right now that their sales figures are shooting up more than 27% in the European market compared to the first quarter of 2018. The brand’s market share in the global sports car segment also went up to 15.4% thanks to their bests-selling Bullitt model.

Nothing says freedom, the wind in your hair and the joy of driving like Mustang; it’s an icon. The roar of its V8 on a spring day, there’s nothing better. No wonder it’s the most popular sports coupe in the world.”
