The alluring Lamborghini Urus aka “the fastest production SUV in the world” has finally made its official debut in New Zealand thanks to Automobili Lamborghini. The first-ever Super Sports Utility Vehicle marks a bold move for the country’s market for something that’s luxurious and powerful paired with great usability and unmatched design.
The Lamborghini Urus launch in New Zealand was done a bit differently as they conducted a one-day drive for fellow guests to experience Simunovich Estate through both on-road and off-road endeavours.
According to Andrea Ruggiero, Area Manager Oceania at Automobili Lamborghini, “We are excited to organise the Urus Dynamic Launch for the first time here in Auckland, where our exclusive group of clients and media get to experience the dynamic performance of the Urus.”
“The Urus elevates the SUV to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV. It is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion as well as drivable every day in a range of environments.”
Greg Brinck, General Manager, Lamborghini Auckland also commented “We expected the Urus would be successful in New Zealand, but it has still exceeded expectations – both in customer demand and in just how capable it is.”
“So, to take it off-road to experience and share yet another example of what Lamborghini’s Super SUV can do, is something truly special. In a country that still boasts some magic out-of-the-way places, the Urus takes ‘getting away’ to a whole new level.”
One of the biggest features found on the Urus is its monstrous 4,0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine which can punch out a staggering 650hp at 6,000rpm and 850Nm of maximum torque as low as 2,250rpm.
These are some serious numbers to consider especially for an SUV and Lamborghini claims that their proud Urus has one of the highest specific power outputs in its class and the best weight-to-power ratio at 3.38 kg/hp.
In other words, the Urus can propel itself from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12.8 seconds and with a top speed of 305 km/h. Those figures are indeed very hard to beat in the SUV segment.
