Boon Siew Honda (BSH) displayed quite a setup for this week’s Malaysia Motorshow 2019 which is currently being held from 11-14 April 2019 at MAEPS Serdang. Their centre of attraction? Two new machines in the form of the 2019 Honda CBR650R and Honda CB650R ‘Neo Sports Cafe’.
According to Keiichi Yasuda, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd, “In 2018, Boon Siew Honda had successfully launched a total of 7 units of high-performance big bikes in Malaysia and we are happy to have received an overwhelming response from the market. And, we shall also look into the middleweight segment demand from the market as well. Therefore, today we launch the All New CBR650R & All New CB650R.”

Judging by the looks alone, the new CB650R will certainly attract quite a huge following especially with that affordability price combination. Coming in with a sharp and defined look fit for the modern era, the new CBR650R replaces the outgoing Honda CB650F with a more sportier riding stance and performance.
Being 6kg lighter than its predecessor, the bike’s riding ergonomics has also been improved by repositioning the major anchor points of the riding position. This goes hand in hand with the bike’s new 649cc inline-four engine which produces 95hp at 12,000rpm and 64Nm of torque at 8,500rpm (5% more than the previous gen CB650F).
The All New CBR650R comes with advanced specifications: adjustable 41mm SHOWA Separate Fork Function (SFF), Upside-down forks, radial-mount four-piston front brake calipers, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and assist/slipper clutch.
In addition, the CBR650R is equipped with other practical features such as full LED lighting and new LCD instruments display, which now includes a Gear Position and Shift Up Indicator, as well as emergency stop signal for safety purpose.
Two different colours are available for the Malaysian market; Grand Prix Red and Mat Gun Powder Black Metallic.

It’s clear that Honda is directing all their latest naked machines into the Neo Sports Café family which started from the Honda CB1000R and Honda CB250R launched not too long ago. The latest addition into the mix in the 2019 Honda CB650R and it fits perfectly in the middle of the range.
Modern and minimalist being at the forefront of the CB650R’s design language, this baby offers a much more relaxed and dynamic riding experience which is perfect in and out of bustling cities. Perfect for those looking for a balance between everyday riding and weekend warrior alike.
The All New CB650R comes with the same specification with All New CBR650R. For the 649cc engine, a revised intake and exhaust, plus new cam timing and compression ratios bring a 5% peak power boost and smoother, stronger torque delivery through the mid-range.
The All New CB650R also comes with advanced specifications: adjustable 41mm SHOWA Separate Fork Function (SFF), Upside-down forks, radial-mount four-piston front brake calipers, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and assist/slipper clutch. The result is a desirable naked middleweight with a unique combination of looks, performance and top-line specifications.
