Naza Kia Malaysia announces pricing for the Kia Cerato Koup at RM135,888.
Malaysian distributor of Kia vehicles Naza Kia Malaysia has announced the pricing scheme for the Kia Cerato Koup sports coupe model. The Cerato Koup is now open for bookings with authorised dealers at RM135,888 on-the-road with insurance.
Previewed a few month earlier, Naza Kia Malaysia had initially estimated the Kia Cerato Koup to go on sale at roughly RM150,000. The announcement of the official sales price sees that estimated figure lowered significantly, making the Kia Cerato Koup one of the most affordable sports coupes available in our market currently.
Based on the acclaimed Kia Cerato four-door sedan, the two-door coupe offshoot comes powered by a 1.6-litre T-GDI (Turbocharged – Gasoline Direct Injection) in-line four-cylinder powerplant that develops 201hp and peak torque of 265Nm. It is the first turbocharged petrol model to be offered by Naza Kia Malaysia in the local market.
This engine is identical to that powering the Cerato Koup’s not-so-distant cousin, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, but the Cerato Koup’s boasts a higher state-of-tune. The mill is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, granting the Cerato Koup with a century sprint time of 7.4 seconds and a claimed top speed of 222km/h.
Besides its perky powerplant and stylish outlooks as a coupe, the Cerato Koup’s package is complemented further by the Kia brand’s suite of standard equipment and all-round safety. Highlights in the features list include the multi-mode ‘Flex-Steer’ electric power steering system, a 4.2-inch touchscreen audio with rear view camera, push start ignition, as well as a 6-speaker audio system. Premium features include a sunroof, dual-zone automatic air conditioning and a smart lighting unit.
In terms of safety, the Cerato Koup covers all areas with an extensive array of standard safety equipment. Amongst them are Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist System (BAS), Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Seatbelt Reminder, ISOFIX as well as six airbags.
